Has anyone noticed the message board at headquarters?

[Yes, he's talking about the Perimeter Guard missions.]

I've had a really bad feeling lately, and my suspicions are that I'm not alone on this one.

[He knows how touchy some people can be about saying against this place, but Ed and gods didn't mix well. He spent too much of his life denying their existence just to spend five years under the power of them, or at least beings claiming to be them - and if he eventually could convince himself they weren't, he'd be much happier. That didn't mean he wanted a repeat of that.]

Some of the stuff going on recently has been a little too familiar for my liking, and if there's any possibility that some sleeping god is behind it, I'm going to go check it out.

[It's not easy spending your life afraid of glitter, okay. Between the carnival, the glitter, the sudden influx of people - which he's learned just began a few months ago - this place was starting to look suspiciously like a certain other event in his life. Even if he's wrong, he doesn't even want to chance that this thing waking up is going to change the dynamic everyone had grown so used to here.

If it being asleep is what's causing the portal to function the way it is, though? He doesn't want to kill or destroy it, either. In his experience that would send most people, if not everyone, home - and a lot of the residents here didn't want that. If he was being honest, himself included.]

[ooc: Chloe and Ed are at it again, Chloe will have a log up sometime next week to get this plot going. In the meantime, Ed's suspicions are super high and no one else cares so he's none too happy, atm. I will be throwing up a public plurk for plotting and discussion, and linking it here once I've put it up.]

I'm counting on it being the god. That tends to be a constant in my life, anyway.

I can definitely sense something stirring, which is probably worth looking into. Most gods aren't evil, just have certain plans that require people like us to see through.

It wouldn't be the first time.

[He never really considered the whole "not evil" thing in the past. He'd kind of lumped Purg's gods all into one category and Attollo had some... politics going on there, but they were desperate, so he wasn't sure he'd call them evil. At least, not most of them.

Not that he thought about it, though... Only one or two of Purg's gods could realistically be called evil, too. He knew of at least one, anyway. Although he hadn't liked Thylas, Thylas sure hadn't been as bad as Zhygure in his opinion.]

Nope. Not for me either. The best we can do is seek the god out. It might be possible to put it back to sleep or if it awakens, to treaty with it. I know these kinds of things; it's pretty much my life, considering...

[ his dad is a god, after all. and so is half his family. hell, percy would be considered his cousin if he really thought about it ( and frankly, he doesn't want to. he's over percy. ) ]

Well, if you're willing we could sure use the help. I'm hoping the thing just stays asleep and doesn't bother us. The risk of the impact of anything changing at this point isn't one I'm interested in taking.

It depends a lot on the kind of god it is. If it's anything like Pan, it staying asleep might not be the best thing without any satyrs around to care for nature. But if it's an evil god like Kronos or Gaea, then I'd have to agree.

Is that something you can detect or are we just going to have to guess?

Generally yes. Sometimes. But with an unknown god... there are a lot of factors I'm not sure about.
