Has anyone noticed the message board at headquarters?
[Yes, he's talking about the Perimeter Guard missions.]
I've had a really bad feeling lately, and my suspicions are that I'm not alone on this one.
[He knows how touchy some people can be about saying against this place, but Ed and gods didn't mix well. He spent too much of his life denying their existence just to spend five years under the power of them, or at least beings claiming to be them - and if he eventually could convince himself they weren't, he'd be much happier. That didn't mean he wanted a repeat of that.]
Some of the stuff going on recently has been a little too familiar for my liking, and if there's any possibility that some sleeping god is behind it, I'm going to go check it out.
[It's not easy spending your life afraid of glitter, okay. Between the carnival, the glitter, the sudden influx of people - which he's learned just began a few months ago - this place was starting to look suspiciously like a certain other event in his life. Even if he's wrong, he doesn't even want to chance that this thing waking up is going to change the dynamic everyone had grown so used to here.
If it being asleep is what's causing the portal to function the way it is, though? He doesn't want to kill or destroy it, either. In his experience that would send most people, if not everyone, home - and a lot of the residents here didn't want that. If he was being honest, himself included.]
[ooc: Chloe and Ed are at it again, Chloe will have a log up sometime next week to get this plot going. In the meantime, Ed's suspicions are super high and no one else cares so he's none too happy, atm. I will be throwing up a public plurk for plotting and discussion, and linking it hereonce I've put it up.]

[That certainly sounded like a cry for help to him, but either way he didn't like any of this.]
We're just going to check it out, I highly doubt any of us want to start a fight with something that's supposed to be a god. Not enough man power for that, anyway.
You're right though, I'd bet on it being something big, whatever it is we find. We can't figure out what to do about it until we know what we're looking for. Those bulletins aren't exactly the most informative.

[It felt too aggressive to be a mournful or desperate cry for help, but she's new to this. She's not going to pretend she has all the answers.]
You should still be careful. Maybe look through the records and see if this city has any historical information on forgotten temples and where they might be. That might give you an idea, at least.

[Ed's used to aggressive cries for help. Not just from the ones in charge of other worlds, but from the people there as well. The ones running Attollo had no problem being aggressive if they felt enough of an effort wasn't being made and aggressive cries for help were about all Taiga knew how to do. Still, he's not exactly placing any bets, he's definitely open to the concept of this thing being a threat - but he wouldn't be surprised to find out the reason was less conventional than most were used to, either.]
That's a good idea... It'll be easier to try to narrow where it is if we know that.
[He's fully aware that the being might not be tied to any temple physically, and finding a temple wouldn't turn up the actual deity - but temples seemed to be a common theme from the people he had heard anything from about it. So, he's willing to bet it's more than just a landmark.]
I'm going to ask Al to stay behind, in case we need back up here. No sense both of us going if something happens to keep us from returning.
