i've heard the same old crap about the portal. that it takes people who need a home.

but is there any way to predict when it happens, or who will show up? can it even pull in someone who's dead?

I've heard some people saying it seems to pull through people who are known to the ones already here pretty often. I'm not sure if that's true, but I've met a few that I knew from home. Only one is still here though.
