I'm with a bunch of the other new arrivals, and I have got to say this has been a real exciting time so far. A new world, people from other worlds -- that's super fascinating.

I sure can't wait to get to know you all better and make some friends.

What's a contractor do?

Hi there, Yonah. Are staring contests really that fun?

A contractor is someone that does various jobs in their field of expertise being hired by different people. So you aren't consistently working just for one person, though a client may constantly hire you if they like your work.

For me it is! I can roll my eyes to the back of my head.

[ So she just wins all the time. There's some hard words in this text too, but she thinks she understands. ]

I think I get it. Sounds like what my Dad does.

That's a real special skill. You should definitely show me sometime.

I'm guessing your dad is a real busy guy, then?

Sure! Then can we play "two truths and a lie"? I've never played that one!

Yeah, Dad didn't come home very much but we need the money. He did all sorts of things... like deliveries, collecting stuff, and beating up monsters! Did you do stuff like that?

That sounds like a plan to me. We'll make it a playdate.

I don't really beat up monsters, but collecting and deliveries is close enough.
