[When the feed switches on, he's fixing his phone's position. His face isn't visible, but it is possible to see the outline of the wraps on his wrists, and the tattoos stretching up across his forearms.

Then he moves back to a stool set up in the room, perfectly lit and angled so that he's just barely obscured enough to show his silhouette without much detail in his appearance. He's not wearing his favorite hoodie for once, just a black band t-shirt with his silver necklace pulled out to be visible over the shirt. His gold necklace is still hidden under it.

The figure is in the middle of Eichi Tenshouin's bedroom, in the Tenshouin estate. Behind him, though the room is rather dark aside from a light he set up to light him from behind, the audience will be able to see a room that is mostly barren aside from a few posters of Wataru Hibiki, a bed and a desk covered in neatly-organized music sheets. It's a place that's really only recognizable if someone knew the original owner, and otherwise looks like a set rather than somewhere that someone lived.

For those who have yet to meet him, the figure in the video is Jamie Dodger. He's missing his right eye, there are deep scars across his face, and there are gauze wraps over his wrists that hide half of his forearms. For a man of only 25, he looks like he's walked through hell, but for once he isn't trying to boost up his street cred by threatening the network as a whole.

Instead he simply pulls out a guitar from behind the stool, and begins playing. The song he sings is slow and melancholy, a tribute for the man that he has spent nearly three weeks now mourning and is trying so hard to get over. Eichi had never gotten to hear him play... so he guesses it's sort of wishful thinking that playing publically would make him feel better about that, even if Eichi is no longer here to know it.

Though most people won't know the struggle that brought this song around, at least the music is good. Dodger is a skilled musician, and his voice is deep and gruff without sacrificing much range. More than anything, there's a lot of emotion in his singing. And when the song is over, he is silent for several seconds before getting up and wordlessly shutting off the feed.

[ It's your friendly neighborhood drow, hanging out somewhere in the jungle. He's idly tossing a dagger into the air, then catching it, then tossing, and so on. ]

Good evening, my friends.

[ He hasn't met nearly so many of Riverview's population as he'd like, but he's comfortable speaking warmly, casually, as though they've all known each other for years. He leans against a tall, mossy tree, eyes on the dagger as it glints in the low sun's light. ]

I happened to be doing a little light exploring, a little minor surveying ... and I came across something interesting. Ruins of some sort, absolutely emanating with mysterious power. I couldn't quite map the shape of the place, unfortunately--as soon as I began drawing near, the jungle came even more alive than usual. Even the lovely birds were angry with me.

[ He catches the dagger for the final time, then slides it into some unknown recess of his jacket. ]

Now, I am of humble merchant stock, but I can defend myself, if I must. I progressed as far as I dared, but something began to feel wrong. I heard voices--strange, incomprehensible chanting. I felt dizzy, woozy. I took the wise path and retreated.

[ He shakes his head. ]

But, before I escaped, I saw a few artifacts scattered through the underbrush, marking a haphazard trail into the ruins. I dared not take one, but they were all inscribed with a certain symbol.

[ He steps aside from the tree he's been leaning against. This symbol is carved into the bark. ]

Not sure what it means, but I have an uneasy feeling just looking at it.

[ He seems thoughtful for a second, then shakes his head. Brightens up. ]

Anyway! I would very much like to get to the bottom of this, but, as mentioned, I'm merely a merchant. My meager skill is not enough to overcome those ruins alone. Any help would therefore be appreciated.

And--one more thing. If you see this symbol anywhere in town, I'd turn around and walk away.

Well, hi there everybody.

I'm with a bunch of the other new arrivals, and I have got to say this has been a real exciting time so far. A new world, people from other worlds -- that's super fascinating.

I sure can't wait to get to know you all better and make some friends.

So let's do a bit of an icebreaker:

1. What's your name?
2. What's your favorite game?
3. What did you do for work on your world?
4. What's your favorite hobby?

I can start.

1. Sombra
2. I'm a big fan of "two truths and a lie".
3. Contractor.
4. Making friends, of course.

Now, it's your turn.

[Anne's gotten used to the video function, enough that it's not shaky, not too close up or far away. But almost as soon as the video feed is switched on, obviously set up on a desk in her room, anyone watching can tell that she's decidedly not happy.

And for anyone who's spoken to her before, she definitely doesn't look herself. She's wearing a green dress, and is decidedly wearing makeup that is done well, her hair brushed out and neatly drop-curled. Glaring into the camera, she empties a handful of beads that have been removed from her hair onto the surface of the desk.]

The fuck kind of place is this.

[After a moment, and a flicker of something that's a little troubled crosses her face.]

My roommate's gone, someone came by an' said she'd gone home. I don't like half the place bein' empty. Might switch rooms.

[Another pause, and then.]

If anyone wants her junk, come get it.

[When the feed starts, it's clear that the man using it doesn't fully understand the technology, as he's holding it very far away from his face. It doesn't seem like it will be an issue though, seeing as he's basically yelling once he starts up talking;]

People of Riverview! Your blighted gatekeepers have informed me of the situation I have been summoned into, and I shall say this! [The feed swings around to a side view as he gesticulates,] Truly, though it is not what I am usually called upon for, rebuilding a civilization is certainly a worthy cause for I, the man upon whose works stand all the temples of the world! However!

[And now, the view zooms in rapidly, TOO close, on this weirdo's face. He's still yelling. This is just a bad audio-visual experience all around.]
What merits can you claim, that you should call yourselves worthy of the aid of I, Ozymandias, King of Kings!? [He's very emphatic about this. He's certainly proven to not be King of Volume Control.]

To those who are interested, a mission has been issued to take care of the chalice currently stuck in the portal. I've formulated a plan, but I require assistance.

[In the video feed, Tieria addresses the network with a serious expression. Though he thinks the whole situation with the chalice is ridiculous, he's still choosing to involve himself. He's been restless from too much free time and too little direction since he arrived, so when given the chance to do something familiar and productive, it's only natural for him to take it.]

There are two apparent options: destroy it, or push it back through the portal. Taako claims that only a god can destroy it, so unless one is present, our most likely option is to send it back.

It is unknown how much force, or even what kind, is needed to accomplish that. Based on what we do know, I propose we try two separate attempts, one with kinetic force and one with magic, to see if the chalice responds to either. I have the kinetic approach covered, though I need a Parameter Guard that isn't in training to supervise. For the magical approach...

[He's still coming to terms with the fact that magic even exists, but trying to deny it will only impede the mission.]

Since there isn't any magic where I'm from, someone trained in that subject is needed to cover that part of the operation.
