[ The video feed opens with one Hana Song looking absolutely pleased with herself and decked-out in her signature plugsuit. With an undeniable, confident smirk on her face, she declares: ]

D.Va online! Finally.

First of all, shout-out to the guy from the Perimeter Guard who personally delivered the best present a girl could ever ask for—

[ Hana stretches her arm out, offering the feed an extended view of what's behind her: a large pink mech, whirring and glowing with lights. Its apparently pilot beams at the camera and flashes a victory sign at the corner of the screen. ]

Ta-dah! Riverview Quarantine, let me introduce you to my state-of-the-art armored battle suit, a.k.a. a mech unit for the Mobile Exo-Force of the Korean Army, a.k.a. my MEKA unit! Someone out there must really like me, huh? You guys are not prepared for what you're gonna get to see coming up.

[ The screen then flips back to Hana, looking very contemplative. ]

But I'm in a bit of a pinch here. None of my engineers are around, obviously, and I know some basics, but this baby's going to need a lot of maintenance. [ it is high-maintenance like its pilot ] I know there's a lot of new people coming in, and there's still a lot of you guys who've been here a while. Any chance any of you are mechanical geniuses who wanna help out? I'm looking only for the best of the best! Come down to the garage of communal housing if you wanna marvel at this beauty!

[ Does she mean herself? Or the mech? It is a mystery! ]

Oh, and one last thing? [ She seems to move for a little bit and then pans the camera so that a sign that reads: "MECH PARKING ONLY" is visible over her shoulder. ] This parking spot? Mine. If anyone parks in my spot my mech and I are stepping on your vehicle. That's all! Love, D.Va!

[ Except she does earnestly believe that, so it doesn't come off as sarcastic or anything. ]

_{[That's fine, cause Karamatsu also earnestly believes that too. They can earnestly believe it together.]}
Hah. That is always the best advice.. to allow your outward appearance to express your heart.

[ She was almost impressed by the whole expressing your heart thing, and her brows raise—

_{[Oooh, she's really not impressed. That's all he wants.. is to impress people! Problem is, there isn't much impressive about him, so he's got to deal with what he's got.]}

D.Va, you said, yes? You may call me.. Matsuno Karamatsu! I am the second eldest from a litter of sextuplets.
_{[Yeah, there's five other brothers that look identical to him. But he's used to introducing himself like this, so he simply moves on:]}

How long have you had this magnificent piece of machinery with you?

[ Hana only spares his question a quick response— ]

I just got it like, a day ago, but I've been busy setting it up.

[ but more importantly: ]

Wait, Sextuplets!?

_{[ He's impressed by her mech, and well, her in general, but you know— she seems impressed he's from a sextuplet family. They are pretty rare, aren't they? He's not really accustomed to impressing people with that, but he'll run with it. ]}

Oh? Have you never met sextuplet before? As one of the oldest, I make sure to watch over my younger brothers.. protect them from danger, teach them what they do not know, encourage and uplift them with loving words!
_{[ this is too sappy and mostly stretching the truth.. ]}

Surely, a pristine quality to find in a man.
_{[ quit. ]}

[ What... even is this guy... Being a sextuplet is impressive, at least as impressive as the fact that a set of sextuplets even exists, but he is definitely making it sound way more dramatic than it... maybe is? She wouldn't know. She's not a sextuplet... She will still squint at him, though. ]

... Sure. But they're not that much younger than you, right? Like, just minutes younger. So does that still count?

_{[ They're in a specific order and there's no questioning that. You can blame the oldest for drilling it into their minds of their hierarchy. Nevertheless, he glistens, smiling brightly. ]}

Of course! Sextuplets are very technical when it comes down to it-- what is beneath our skin, surpass out bones, into our souls. We're all very different with our on personalities.. and desires!

Only one of my brothers is here right now.. I am not certain if you have seen him, but his name is Ichimatsu and he was born as the fourth. I am taking the best care of him!
_{[ actually it's more like reversed, but whatever. ]}

[ Hana supposes that if she did have five other identical siblings that they would nitpick about the hierarchy. She's already so competitive, and she can only imagine that being even moreso with five others of her. (She's very glad she's not a sextuplet.)

She tilts her head at him thoughtfully. ]

No, I don't think I've seen him around. But he'd look just like you, right? Is he also... like that?

[ Like... pretty extra? ]

He is.. a lot less put together, more unkempt— not quite as handsome and hygienic as myself.
_{[ where is your tact.. ]}
But, through his stony heart, there's a warmth that burns. He is very soft with a good nature... when he is not trying to push you away. I encourage you to befriend him if you see him as well--

_{[ a beat. ]}

As long as you befriend me first, of course!
_{[ it's always a competition. ]}

[ Okay, although this guy seems to always be at 11 for no apparent reason, Hana finds it more amusing than anything else. For now, at least. And so she chuckles. ]

What happens if I go behind your back and become friends with him first, huh?

_{[ He gets jealous. Immensely jealous! Seriously, why do so many people like Ichimatsu that much? Karamatsu is not one to outwardly show his negative feelings and thoughts, especially since he's so keen on impressing someone, and so: ]}

Well, ah.. nothing! Nothing at all. It doesn't bother me at all. Hah. That blackness.. in my heart, those feelings of green envy that flourish every once in awhile, that bitterness in my soul, you know..
It does not cause any of those sorts of things to rouse-- to rear their ugly heads-- into my personality, oh no.

_{[ He's trying to sound so sincere with this, he overdid it and turned it into something poetic. ]}

It is just.. I would like to introduce you to him.. myself! As my friend, first and foremost!
_{[ do you see him sweating... ]}

[ Hana is, honestly, just trying to be an immense Troll. She watches with undisguised amusement as this guy just plays right into her hands, and when he's finished his dramatic and sweaty monologue, she feigns contemplation, humming and bringing a hand up to tap a finger against her lips like she's thinking about it. ]

Well... Alright, I'll be your friend first. And I'll even let you show me off to your brother!

[ There is, after all, a lot to show off. Because she is #1. ]

By the way, have you considered a career in acting? In dramas, specifically?

_{[ he's the perfect target to troll-- extremely gullible and wants nothing more than to impress people. It's even easier if you're a cute girl, so really, take all the advantage you want.
Everybody here seems so interested in his career which he never really thought he could achieve. He goes big or goes home. Quarantine has been generous though-- he easily got an acting job here.

He straightens, falling into a cocky pose with his chest puffed out and his hands on his hips. ]}

You are looking at a soap opera actor right now, ma petite.

But, okay, please don't speak random French at Hana; you'll remind her of Widowmaker. And on that note, she sticks her tongue out with a 'blegh' sound at him. ]

Nope. Lose the random French. If you're gonna embrace your career as a soap opera actor, it has to be Spanish.

_{[ You've sincerely surprised him. Look at that shock on his face.
He's.. very obviously Japanese, but you know. ]}

A-ah, I see, you're probably right. I will remember that for the next character that I have to play.
_{[ his characters always die in the first season, that's how it's been so far. He's thinking real hard about this— she can probably see it in his expression. And then, he snaps his fingers, tossing her a wink while he is at it. God only knows what he just thought of. ]}

Aha! You were just the inspiration I needed. Perhaps next time I will get the lead role with your constructive criticism!
_{[ She could have been a lot more mean about this (and he's accustomed to that) so he's sincerely grateful. ]}

[ Look, he is very obviously Japanese, and yet he spoke random French. Why not random Spanish?

She gives him a thumbs up sign as he rightfully takes her advice, because she's clearly an expert in being a thespian. In fact— ]

I'm an actor, too, so I understand! It's no problem!

_{[ And just like, he believes her without question. He lights up, audibly gasps, and.. did he just clench his heart with his hand? God. Gain your composure, Karamatsu. He does, and he does so.. overwhelmingly. He exhales loudly through his teeth, chest falling with his breath as he turns away, looking to the side. He clears his throat. ]}

I see, we share a common interest. As flowers of all kind bloom in the spring and have no desire to bloom any other time of the year-- _{[ you're making no sense.. ]}

Heh. I know you might would be honored to act with me sometime.
_{[ act what.. act where.. ]}

What do you like acting as? Do you play a hero or a damsel in distress? A good guy or a bad guy?
_{[ don't make this complicated, Karamatsu. ]}

[ It is a true testament to her acting ability, honestly, that she can watch Karamatsu... be himself... with a straight face on. Thespian 4.0 was a little bit like that, a bit over the top sometimes, but he was nice. Not quite as extra as Karamatsu, though. She doesn't know if she's met anyone as extra as Karamatsu is. ]

Maybe we'll get to, sometime. Who knows?

I'll never accept a role as a damsel, though. Or anything less than a lead, unless it's to have a badass side role!

For some reason, her statement doesn't surprise Karamatsu. From the start, she seemed like a bubbly and confident woman-- with a mech. Seriously, there is nothing to not like here. He forces a swallow down his tight throat-- was that sweat along his eyebrows? It looked like, but he plays it off. He also has to look confident here! In any case, he falls into a pose. ]}

Though, I suppose if you really look at it, heh..
We are all actors in life! Ah, our own heroes, we are our own protagonists! And the world, it is a stage we can play on!

Maybe, one day, you and I will act.. in a coffee shop, or at the movies, or where ever your heart desires..!
_{[ A pause, and flourish as he falls into another pose, and then... cricket chirps. Don't do this so soon, man. Love yourself. ]}

[ Fortunately for Karamatsu, she's quite used to guys looking generally nervous around her. It's the D.Va Effect, and it comes exactly from her being a bubbly, confident, and pretty woman.

She plays along, nodding to everything he says, looking like she agrees with his waxing poetic and all, but at that last part— she tips her head to one side with a quirked brow and then it hits her, and her grin turns sly. ]

... Wait, are you trying to ask me out on a date?

_{[ Her response is a little different than what he is accustomed to receiving. Usually girls cold shoulder him and insult him, or even worse: ignore him no matter how much he persisted. After all, he wasn't a person with any attraction about him-- an average looking face, no muscular build. She may not be able to tell from the other side of the screen, but he's absolutely short too. He blames it on being packed inside his mother's womb with five others to put a stunt on his growth, but you know.

So, the fact she even responds to him catches him off guard, and he loses his calm demeanor, however calm it still was, for just a split second, enough to sputter. ]}

H-hah, so it would be-- _{[ He's meek at first, but builds up the drama, as per usual: ]}

[ Meanwhile, Hana is 100% inspecting her fingernails as he monologues, contemplating what color she should paint them next. Probability says it'll probably be some shade of pink. ]

I mean... there's bound to be someone out there who's into that kind of thing. Your kind of thing.

[ Like... being super dramatic... and maybe they can counter-monologue at each other... ]
