First of all, shout-out to the guy from the Perimeter Guard who personally delivered the best present a girl could ever ask for—

[ Hana stretches her arm out, offering the feed an extended view of what's behind her: a large pink mech, whirring and glowing with lights. Its apparently pilot beams at the camera and flashes a victory sign at the corner of the screen. ]

Ta-dah! Riverview Quarantine, let me introduce you to my state-of-the-art armored battle suit, a.k.a. a mech unit for the Mobile Exo-Force of the Korean Army, a.k.a. my MEKA unit! Someone out there must really like me, huh? You guys are not prepared for what you're gonna get to see coming up.

[ The screen then flips back to Hana, looking very contemplative. ]

But I'm in a bit of a pinch here. None of my engineers are around, obviously, and I know some basics, but this baby's going to need a lot of maintenance. [ it is high-maintenance like its pilot ] I know there's a lot of new people coming in, and there's still a lot of you guys who've been here a while. Any chance any of you are mechanical geniuses who wanna help out? I'm looking only for the best of the best! Come down to the garage of communal housing if you wanna marvel at this beauty!

[ Does she mean herself? Or the mech? It is a mystery! ]

Oh, and one last thing? [ She seems to move for a little bit and then pans the camera so that a sign that reads: "MECH PARKING ONLY" is visible over her shoulder. ] This parking spot? Mine. If anyone parks in my spot my mech and I are stepping on your vehicle. That's all! Love, D.Va!

Sounds a triple-threat kind of mech, if you ask me. Cool! Mine can be pretty versatile, too. I can zip around and be on the offensive but fall back and go more defensive, too. Flexible, like me.

Sniping and staying long-rage isn't my style, personally. I love getting into the thick of the fight!

Nice. Definitely sounds like its a well-balanced mech if it can do both. You definitely need both.

It's not mine either, but my brother apparently preferred it. Cheridum was modeled after his mech Dynames, but it had more short-range too.

[ Cheridum, Dynames, those could only be mech names, right?

That reminds her... She doesn't have one for her MEKA unit. ]

...Huh. I should name my mech.

[They were definitely mech names]

Could be interesting. What would you name it?

[ She hummed thoughtfully, tapping a finger against her lips as she contemplated this Very Serious Question. ]

I always thought of it like a bunny... "Tokki," is the word for that in my language.

[Very serious. It was important to consider this carefully of course]

Yeah, it kind of does look like one. "Tokki" could work for it then. Then it actually would be a bunny.

Exactly! It's cute but powerful, just like me. So it's perfect!

Then it sounds like you know exactly what you want to name it. As long as it is what you want, it's perfect.

Did you get to name your... [ what was it— ] Gundam? What's the meaning behind it?

No, I didn't get to name it. I think they were all named after angels or something... because they belong to the group Celestial Being.

Huh... [ She pursed her lips in thought. ] That sounds way too serious for me. I guess you guys were trying to follow a theme, but still...

Yeah, they were pretty serious. Couldn't really decide my own mech's name. You know, couldn't name it "fido" or something like that. But I did get to customize it some.

Okay, but if you could have named it, what would you call it? Definitely not "fido," right?

No, not fido. That would be absurd.

[He thought about that for a moment]

Apollo might have been a good one. He was mythical archer. But he also had other things. He was considered a god of healing too, which is what we were trying to do. Heal the damage that had been caused.

[ Hana sensed a backstory time incoming, maybe. ]

Healing the damaged caused by what...? Apollo is a good name, though. A little overdone, but for a good reason!

[Yep. Incoming]

So in my world, groups of major ruling countries banded together and we got the three factions - AEU, the Human Reform League, and what was just shortened to the Union. These three ruling powers didn't get along and fought constantly with each other, frequently at the expense of others who were around. They also built the three pillars that hold up orbit satellite. The construction of these pillars cost countless lives, both from their building and from the violence sparked as backlash.

Celestial Being's goal was to put an end all armed conflict in the world, especially between these three powers with the hope that it would then bring peace for everyone.

[ She could kind of relate to what he was saying as he provided exposition. In her world, there were humans and omnics, but the latter was divided into omnics who existed with their own free will and others who were... errant. Rebelling against humanity and desiring its desctruction. And then there was Talon, a side that didn't seem to exist except to make things suck for everyone else. And Overwatch, which sought to put an end to conflict and bring peace, much like she imagined Celestial Being did.

Overwatch was shut down, though. ]

So... Celestial Being wants to end armed conflict... by using weaponized mecha?

Yeah, ironic isn't it? Based on what I saw from the first phase, which I was not a part of it, the theory by whoever created the group might have been "the common enemy" theory.

If all three ruling countries have a common enemy that is stronger than them individually, isn't the best thing to work together to stop it.

[ She looked thoughtful as she tried to process that. That... certainly made sense, but at the same time... it seemed like not a good way to go about things. ]

I guess, but... what happens after they work together to beat the common enemy? Won't the problems from before still exist?

Well, to be fair, I don't think they were supposed to survive passed that. They did lose people, but I think half survived.

There was actually some crazy, overarching thing going on. The person who put the team together apparently knew that something else was going to happen so they part of the first phase. The second was preparations for "the dialogs to come".

[ She gasps oh so dramatically ]

A plot twist! What happened after!?

[If she's going to gasp dramatically... Lyle's going to do it...]

Dun dun da!

[Yep, dramatic sound effect]

So we eventually found out that "the dialogs to come" were supposed to be preparing someone to be able to communicate when an alien race came to attack our world. They didn't communicate the way we are now. It was more of an emotion or feeling. My teammate had been changed during the fighting and was able to speak with them. He stopped the fighting, but he seems to be gone.

We have an odd space flower though now.
