Well this is fun. Finally confirmed that both my brother and my teammate are gone.

Lucky me. Probably ended up here because of them and now they aren't here.

So I guess it doesn't really matter what he thinks anymore.

Interesting combinations of topics. I always like things like history in school, call me crazy. Archeology seems like it would be something that would go along with it.

Yeah, they definitely do that. There's a lot of brush out there and we have to get through it in order to help.

[She admits with a warmer smile. It didn't usually take Kate long to warm up to people though she had been having trouble reaching out since her arrival. It doesn't help that she had spent the first few days of her arrival in the hospital but she's slowly moving forward, for whatever might come next.]

History is what I was looking into before I found myself here. There are legends in Mexico and I was speaking to the locals to learn more. Not everything could be translated easily. That's why I looked at Archaeology. It doesn't look like it's much different here but if I ever want to see ruins I'll have to find a way to protect myself.

I haven't seen the monster beyond the perimeter but I've heard they are there.

Really? That sounds like it would be interesting, learning about the history of Mexico and its legends first hand. That is always the trouble when you start trying to translate something. Either it doesn't make sense or there's just no word in your language that means their word.

I've seen some of them. They are there. They are not fun.

Why aren't the ruins fun?

More than I do. I'd be the guy who needs a guide book for everything or I'd end up saying I'd love to put pants on their goat.

Well, there's a deity in the ruins and obviously it didn't want to give up it's digs.

[Kate chuckles softly as she brings her coffee to her lips. She'd forgotten she had it for a few moments but the time had made it cool sufficiently to be drinkable.]

A deity? I hadn't heard about that. [Kate isn't always in the loop.] I'm glad that you're safe. Do we know what it's doing out there? Or who it is?

I'm not exactly sure who or what. I was mainly there to offer cover fire for those who were doing research or going after the deity itself. I will say though, the closer we got to it, the stranger the feelings were getting around that area were.

What sort of feelings?

Just strange... dark feelings. If you ever imagined what an ominous feeling would be like, this was it. We were camped still some ways away from the city and it felt like we were being watched.

I do know that feeling.

I would be interested in seeing it or feeling it for myself if I can.

I don't know if you'll still get that feeling, but we could try. We'd have to see about using one of the vehicles from Perimeter guard or we'd more supplies. It was a trek from here.

Would it be hard to borrow something from the Perimeter guard?

[She doesn't want to be in the way however she's horribly curious and Kate's stubborn curiosity has gotten her into trouble in the past.]

I can ask. I am a member of the guard after all. Worst that happens is that they say no. Then we figure out a different option.
