Gamora is working on that “reaching out” thing, on trying to get a better idea of who and what surrounds her in the city, and she might as well use it as a chance to stretch her legs and potentially come up against a worthy opponent or two. ]

I want to. My whole family fights demons, real demons, in my own world, but everyone keeps on telling me I'm too young. My two brothers and sister are here but... they just want to protect me themselves. [He presses his mouth together in a little line, looking down.] But they can't always be there. [He says it without any blame or anger towards them, just acceptance that that's the way things are.]

They're right.

[ But— ]

And so are you.

[ They won't always be around to protect him, no matter how much they try. That's just being realistic. ]

I could teach you, if you want to learn from me.

[ She has no desire to teach him the finer points of assassination, but learning to defend oneself is valuable – even for a child. The world is dangerous, and his own guardians can't hope to protect him from everything. ]
