video; @gamora
[ When the camera switches on, Gamora is in her apartment, Godslayer across her lap (diligently cleaned and freshly oiled), and she’s holding her communicator with her usual unreadable expression in place. ]
I want to expand my training opportunities. Those looking to spar or test their abilities – I want a challenge.
[ And with a slight lift of her brow— ]
Or let me know if you simply want others to practice with. Tell me how you prefer to fight, and we can work something out.
[ What a friendly and welcoming message.
… Except definitely the opposite of that.
Gamora is working on that “reaching out” thing, on trying to get a better idea of who and what surrounds her in the city, and she might as well use it as a chance to stretch her legs and potentially come up against a worthy opponent or two. ]

It's been...some time since Izzy's really sparred, or trained, with anybody outside of her family. It's not that Jace, Alec, or even Magnus don't provide a challenge. The fact of the matter is that they all know one another well. That makes sparring with them much more predictable than is always helpful.
So, why not?] I wouldn't mind expanding and sparring with someone new, actually. I'm Izzy. [She gives a bit of a wave, serpent bracelet sliding down her forearm with the movement, even though the other woman probably doesn't need that added into the greeting.]
I'm open to hand-to-hand or several different kinds of weapons. I'm good with swords, staves, and whips, if you're interested in any of those? [She can try anything once, after all. And she can handle herself. This does seem more of a friendly offer than a nefarious one.]

Gamora.
[ What a polite way to introduce herself. Good job, Gamora. ]
My preference is swords, but I can fight with anything – or nothing, if that's easier.
[ But she pauses, looking thoughtful. ]
I've never sparred with someone armed with a whip. How effective is that in close quarters?

[The other woman might not be completely personable, but Izzy can't help herself. When she likes something, whether it be name, clothes, hair (though Gamora's is nice too come to think of it) she comments on it.]
I'm pretty flexible too, honestly. [The question is kind of an exciting one for Izzy, considering her whip is one of her preferred weapons. Then again, her whip is different from most.]
It's not what most people would choose for close quarters. You have to really be confident with it to make it a help and not a hindrance. When you fight with a whip and can't get distance or drawback you need, you have to combine it with a lot of hand-to-hand, utilize the whip to choke or wrap around your opponent to control them, or get creative with the handle and blunt force. So, it's not a useless weapon, and in the right hands with the right techniques it can be pretty effective. [Izzy is kind of an expert and she's passionate about things, what can she say?]

This whip seems... interesting. ]
I see. It sounds far more versatile than I would have expected. Is that your preferred weapon?

Giving a nod, Izzy grins.] It is my preferred weapon, yeah. So, if you want to give it a shot against a whip I'm definitely game.

I'd like to see it in practice, against my own sword – unless you'd rather I use something else.

[Izzy winks, playfully, joking and yet knowing that is absolutely the truth. She's yet to get to pick a weapon she's fighting against in a practical situation. So, she can always use the practice. Even here, with her life having calmed down. None of them wantd to let their skills dull, after all. And that extended to people that weren't shadowhunters..like Gamora, obviously.]

[ Picking an opponent's weapon is usually a luxury reserved for... well, never, really. ]
When would best suit you?
