Gamora is working on that “reaching out” thing, on trying to get a better idea of who and what surrounds her in the city, and she might as well use it as a chance to stretch her legs and potentially come up against a worthy opponent or two. ]

You can do that; I would rather attend one of the movies they are showing in the park.

[ And once again, Peter looks surprised – but pleasantly so, this time. ]

Really? You wanna go see a movie?

Why not? It sounds enjoyable.

[ Sitting in the park, watching a movie on a big screen (preferably with Peter).

She'd seen notices up advertising the evening movies, and something as simple as settling in the grass sounded nice or those tickets they offered with couches and other accommodations. ]

[ A smile tugs at the corner of his mouth. ]

Yeah? I figured that kinda thing would, you know. Be, like, a little too, like, frivolous for you.

And dancing isn't?

[ But she'd done it with him anyway.

... Which was not her openly admitting that dancing was enjoyable. ]

[ Archly, as he smirks at her. ]

I thought warriors were supposed to take themselves seriously and avoid having any sort of fun at any cost.

[ She says it blandly, without the urge to indulge him, though that smallest hint of a smile tugs at her own lips. ]

Perhaps I should refrain – though that would also mean no more dancing.

[ Peter sucks in a breath, holding up both hands. ]

That sounds awful for you. Meanwhile, I’m gonna marathon, like, a bazillion flicks and dance the night away.

And I'm sure you would have no trouble finding someone to join you.

[ Though she keeps her expression carefully neutral as she says it, cocking a brow at him. ]

Yeah, I probably wouldn't.

[ And he says it in his usual breezy way. Peter knows he has something of a silver tongue, when he's trying hard enough, knows he can talk his way into the company of more than a few folks if he tried. It's a statement of fact, as far as he's concerned. ]

But it wouldn't be the same without you threatening to, like, slit my throat.

[ That is, evidently, the correct answer – since a denial would clearly be a lie – and it shows in the tiny crook of her lips. ]

Then is that your way of saying you would like to go with me?

[ Since she kind of suggested it in the first place, and really, if she wasn't interested, she wouldn't have given it another thought, but... she'd seen the posters, and her first instinct had been that it seemed like something Peter would like. ]

[ He flashes a giant grin before smoothing his expression out into something far more sedate. ]

Yes, Gamora, I want to go with you.

[ If the phrasing is familiar, it should be. He's deliberately echoing her from when he asked her on a date. ]

[ The phrasing absolutely doesn't pass Gamora's notice, amusement twinkling in her eyes. ]

When?

[ Considering there are plenty of opportunities, it's not like they'll want for something to see. ]

Whenever we're both free.

You know, when I'm not working, and you're not beating folks' faces in during your friendly sparring matches.

[ She'll totally reschedule a beatdown to go to a movie with Peter. ]
