[You can tell from the moment Thor's face appears on camera, he's been through hell and back. His hair is almost entirely buzzed down, save for the tufts on top, with markings shaved into the sides. His eye is covered by a black patch, indicating an injury that he isn't happy to talk about.]

I've made some changes. [Bluntly, as if he consented to any of this.]

What else.. Some things have happened at home that may be of interest to some of you. [He hums, considering.] Odin is dead. I have another sister? Her name is Hela. Mjolnir is destroyed. Banner is alive. [He feels a little guilty revealing that one, but he thinks someone deserves to know.] I fought the Hulk. I won. I met a real, live Valkyrie- And Asgard is.. [A people, not a place, but..] The realm has been destroyed. My people are seeking refuge, I suppose I understand now what displacement feels like.

I have the remains of Asgard in a ship, floating through space. If a portal could open for them, that would be extremely useful to me right now. I'm a king with no land or people, now. Very poetic. [Does he seem terse? He's kind of tense.


And then Loki comes barging in, looking very much the same and carrying a large parchment. He glances at the recording with a frown. He places the map of Earth on the wall, pinning it with a single dagger.]

Must you reveal everything? Put that away, I have work for you.

Thor. I suppose we'll never know unless they try. The portal is our best chance. though as your uh, companion, pointed out, it would require further research.

[ and a great measure of hope, no matter loki is saying. ]

We will need more intel.

[ though hope couldn't hurt. ]

what of you? can you try and solve the riddle of the Portal?

[ Loki glances at Thor before looking away. ]

No reason, I suppose.

[ Maybe he'll bring it up. Loki had just assumed . . . but perhaps it is better not to make assumptions anymore. That's what led him so deeply astray. ]

I've used portals before. And I am proficient in traveling between worlds through my own means.

[ Not much of a boast, though it is certainly one of Loki's greater powers. All other Asgardians require the Bifrost. Loki is the exception. ]

But this one operates erratically. I cannot tap into it or control it.

Yet. You cannot control it, yet. I should like to think that since it hasn't yet collapsed, the thing works according to its own logic.

[ they just need to crack the code. ]

I admit, I know much less of it than you, this is my first dance, so to speak.

Most likely. But as portals are also dangerous, I cannot simply crack it open and dissect it for its secrets.

[ Loki would have done that, a couple of months ago. It was on the agenda. But there was only one portal. One way out and in. Even he was not foolish enough to risk it without full knowledge. ]

[ If only Loki had a clue the kind of colorful people Aoba has involved himself with, he might not feel too bad - gang members, terrorists, broken robots and data miners, ranging from the twisted and cruel to those with hidden hearts of gold.

Aoba feels a little foolish for have once again stuck his nose into something that's really none of his business, but be it by design, a sense of justice or some fickle form of luck, he can't help but get involved. ]

...Well, you at least seem to have time.

We're very fortunate that way.

[ It is clear that much has happened. But Angela has one single question before she thinks of mourning for Asgard. ]

Mostly eager to find a solution.

[ One that's not Earth would be nice. ]

We received a canister. With new memories.

[ He smiles faintly at that. ]

To be candid, you are a vastly superior older sister.

I'm sure you can come to an arrangement.

[Thor pats Loki's back. It's a little awkward, reminiscent of the way Loki patted his back on Earth.

Talking about their own relationship is hard enough, talking about other relationships is almost impossible.]

So, Earth. [Thor gestures at the map.] Let's talk about our options.

I'm not a man of science, I don't think I research is my strength, but there's nothing I won't do.

I suppose I could request an audience. Try to gather some people with a better understanding of portals.

Hulking? A small hulk? [Thor pauses to wrap his mind around it.]

Mm, can't imagine I would have approved of it in that universe. Do you have the power to manipulate the mind, then?

Then it's definitely not the ship we're on. We commandeered it, so unless it's haunted.. [Mostly haunted by tired, scared people.]

It's interesting that they can bring people in from a ship.

They can alter you physically when they give you memories. I didn't ask how. Not sure I want to know.

He's. . complicated. ( half skrull, half kree, prince of space--there's a lot of explaining he'd have to do to. make sense of it. probably more than he'd need to explain himself, so. ) But he doesn't hulk out or anything.

I asked your brother if he thought maybe we could see about bringing in refugees from your ship here, but... I guess that's not a good idea, in hindsight.
