[ sitting in his room in marco's mansion with a record player belting out blitzkrieg bop. not so loud that he can't be heard, but it's clearly cranked up a little. nico, meanwhile, is sharpening his sword and looking a little put out. after having his memories shared with multiple people, he's not feeling too sociable. but he can hear jason grace in his head telling him he needs to get out of the house and talk to people. ]

Eight months. I've been here eight months and there's still no way to get back to camp. Back... home.

[ the fact he calls camp home now truly reveals just how much he misses his friends and family. ]

This place isn't too bad, but being the only demigod around here kind of sucks. I don't know how many people around here get homesick, but I would certainly accept even some of the gods, Greek gods showing up. No offense to you Norse types.

[ he picks up his sword and sets his thumb against the edge, cheering up a little as it nicks the skin, causing blood to well to the surface. sucking on his thumb, he sets the sword aside. ]

Whatever. Anyone want to go outside quarantine and kill some stuff?

[ nearly jumps out of loki's lap as his features shift, eyes widening. it takes him a few seconds during which his heart is beating rapidly, but eventually he settles again and tentatively reaches a hand up to an ear, hoping to pet it. ]

Gods, Loki, you're... [ beat. ] Soft.

[ikols]

[ That ... wasn't the reaction he expected. Startling and almost falling off of him, sure, but the gentle touch is a surprise that has his toothy grin fading into a smile. ]

Well, it's real fur.

[ His ears flicker, standing up straighter to receive the petting. His hands come to rest on his chest, curled up; fingers with claws like an anthro mash-up. ]

[ hey, he's battle werewolves, fought giant dolphin-men, and seen all manner of odd mythical creatures. a god turning into a fox is not that far out of the realm of possibility. nico is rather fascinated, petting loki's ears with slow deliberation. ]

I can tell. Do you change into this form often? It's... kind of nice.

[ikols]

[ His ears flatten back with the pleasant pressure running through his fur and between Loki's legs his bushy tail starts wagging, curling up and accidentally thwapping at Nico's butt. Whiskers twitch.]

No, people don't like it, or they think it's a joke.

[deathkid]

[ an undignified noise escapes nico and he jolts forward in loki's lap, turning red again. it takes a second for him to calm down, but when he does he huffs and resumes petting loki. ]

That's too bad. I like it.

[ikols]

Mmm ...

[ Tilting his head to the side he exposes a thick ruff where the fur is densest, reaching up to scratch. If Nico doesn't mind then Loki will take advantage of his fascination. ]

Can you get in here, right to the root? It's itchy.

[ Because someone needs brushing. ]

[deathkid]

[ obeying the request, nico curls his fingers in where the fur is thickest and starts giving good scritches as he leans in and nuzzles against his furry friend. ]

How's this?

[ikols]

That is so-ooo good ... Oh! [ His knee bends higher and he kicks the sofa reflexively, startling himself. ] Whoops, been a while since I was this way. You've found the right spot, though!

[ Tentatively, he reaches up and runs his claws through Nico's hair to return some of the lovely scritching. And if his lip curls on a snaggletooth, he can't help that either. ]

That's ... the best ...

[deathkid]

Hmm.... [ the gentle claws in his hair feels good and it's hard to stay focused, but he manages well enough by biting down on his lip again and directing his fingers in a circle around loki's ruff. then, as if inspired, he presses a minute kiss on loki's snout. ] I bet you'd be very cozy to snuggle with at night.

[ikols]

[ A vulpine churl curls in the pit of his throat when Nico pecks him like that, something no one else has ever done. He aims a tiny lick at his cheek, wondering idly about all those wild rumours about Greeks and their own shapeshifting gods ...

Either way, it's nice to be appreciated and surprised in the process. ]

I won't say no to a tummy-rub, just saying.

[ Half a joke, half curious to see what Nico will do. Loki gathers him in to nuzzle dark curls, lulled by all the physical contact. ]

[ having no idea what's running through loki's head, nico gives a soft laugh at the mention of a belly rub. his fingers tickle down from loki's ruff to his chest where nico scratches, unsure if there's still fur under the godling's clothing. if there is, nico will try to give the best approximation of a belly rub as he can. ]

Do you have fur under your clothes too? I guess I could give you one. It's a little like giving Mrs. O'leary—my friend's hellhound—belly rubs. Well, only a little. Not quite.

[ikols]

Of course, what do you think's underneath here? I'm still me.

[ He hooks two fingers under the hem of his tshirt and tugs it up to put on show the thin layer of russet and cream shorthairs that cover his usual male body. It may look like someone stretched the fur over him and glued it in place, because while Loki is definitely sporting foxy attributes he hasn't stopped being himself, lean hips and all. ]

Hel-hounds grow to be massive in Asgard, do yours?

[deathkid]

Mrs. O'leary's the size of a bus, give or take. Big enough for me and Percy to ride her when we were on a quest.

[ as he speaks, nico takes the moment to regard loki's foxy form. he can easily imagine how he would look flesh and blood and has to mentally shake himself to keep from letting his mind go in that direction. instead, he settles his fingers along loki's ribs and begins dragging his fingers through the fur. up and down, along his belly. ]

How's that?

[ Unnnhphhh is a close approximation of the noise that leaves him, toes curling and legs doing the same as he instinctively drags Nico in to cuddle, soft fingertips running up and down the blessed arm that owns the hand scratching Loki in all the right places, never before so torn between squirming and snuggling. Nico can live in Loki's ruff, it's warm there. He's fine. ]

Mmm, mmph, s'real good. Goodgoodgood ...

[deathkid]

[ a muffled squeak escapes nico as his face is pressed into loki's ruff, but he pushes himself away just enough so he can still breathe. all the while, he continues to rub loki's belly, apparently doing the godling good. the thought brings a smile to his lips. ]

You're really just a cuddly thing, aren't you? It's cute.

[ikols]

It's not funny! You try having millions of sensitive hairs all over your body!

[ Gurgling his complaints weakly into Nico's hair, he nibbles at the shell of an ear to get back at him. ]

[deathkid]

[ the nibbling prompts a slight gasp from nico, causing high italian cheeks to flush with color. in retaliation, nico merely spreads his hands and rubs more, really digging into loki's fur to give a good scratching. ]

You're the one that decided to turn into a fox. If you went back to your other form, it wouldn't be such a problem, now would it?

[ikols]

But you're doing s-such a good job, I don't want to change back right now.

[ Even if Loki stutters with how lovely those scritches are, it doesn't make him miss the way Nico gasps and flushes with colour. That ear is a casualty of this weird war they now have going on and Loki decides to Hel with it as he licks broad strokes all the way to the collar of Nico's shirt, tongue rough and hot as he leaves a sticky trail with a growl, basking in how willingly close Nico is to this particular form. ]

[deathkid]

[ what was originally a softer gasp as his ear was being nibbled because a louder, more pronounced one. especially as loki's tongue drags along his sensitive collarbone. sitting up more fully, he leans back with wide eyes and flushed features. ]

Loki! Don't-

[ikols]

[ Licking his lips (which he hopes doesn't come off too Big Bad Wolf) he sinks back into the cushions and lays his hands on his middle, watching Nico intently with unblinking green eyes. ]

Sorry. No one's ever ... That was new. [ Pointed ears flatten. ] Sorry. You okay?

[deathkid]

[ still flushed, nico looks away, feeling the warmth in his cheeks and recalling the rough sensation of the tongue on his skin. ]

It was just, um... [ swallows. ] Surprising. I almost forgot you're not really an animal...

[ikols]

I am. I'll turn into a man if you want, if you're more comfortable with that.

[ He itches under his chin, finally glancing away in chagrin. ]

I forgot what I was ...

[deathkid]

Yeah, I mean- If you're going to do something like that, I'd prefer- Yeah.

[ realizing what he's saying, he squirms a little, looking at loki through his lashes. ]

[ikols]

Hah. [ He has to laugh a little. ] Still waiting on a tall bipedal vixen to come knocking at my door. [ He can't say he'd rule that out.

The shapeshift is slower, resettling in his Asgardian male form. Tugging his shirt down. ]

All better, there we are.

[ not before nico gets a good view of loki's sculpted chest. his eyes dilate sharply and he sucks in a breath. then, almost timidly: ]

Did you, um, want to...
