Hey everyone.

Happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate.

I was wondering if people would be willing to talk to me about magic. If it even exists where you come from - if it doesn't or it's just a myth that's cool too, we can still chat - how it works, stuff like that. I got here at the beginning of the month and I've started working at Gramarye Magic Reseach so I guess you could say I'm curious? Magic seems to have different rules in different places for different people.

Thanksgiving, in the country I'm from, falls on the 3rd Thursday (which is the 4th weekday of the 7 day week) of the 11th month of the 12 month year, during the changing of the seasons from fall to winter.

It is currently explained culturally and commercially as a celebration of family and friends in the form of traditional family gatherings, or even just gatherings of friends, surrounding specific foods like turkey, prepared any number of ways.

Historically it marks the beginning of an antagonistic and eventually genocidal relationship between colonists and the native populations of the continent.

The genocide was pretty thorough, I think they're less than 2 percent of the population now but I can't be certain.

To be honest, I don't know. There are the Red Priests and the Lhazareen in Essos, but also warlocks in Qarth—the former have helped me, and the middle and latter done me ill.
