Hey, show of hands, who here's got too much free time right now? [ HE'LL START. Look at that hand go up. ] Come on, at least one of you watching raised your hand, too. So let's do something about it. Get drunk in public, find a corner to loiter on, a shop to vandalize, you know, normal kids' stuff.

[ He grins. ]

Kidding! [ With a shrug and a careless wave of his hand. ] I'd get up to way worse than that if I wanted to be a public menace. [ Still kidding? EH. ]

Anyway, I can't be the only one here with nothing better to do, so who wants to play a game of Would You Rather? Look, I can even start:

[ He claps his hands together and makes a show of thinking. ]

Would you rather... Have superpowers, but die young. Or be perfectly average, and live a long, painfully uneventful life?

He was a complete piece of crap, as you put it. My husband executed him. All the same, however: he was still my brother.

( Her life has been plenty interesting and terrible without having superpowers and dying young.

She envies him a little, that such a thing would be enticing. )

And is that the same here? ( Her head tilts, too. Hm. ) I can't disagree; I've done the same. Perhaps that's a universal truth.

[ Chase has killed several of his own family members, himself, and for all that he acts like it's nbd, he does get it, somewhat. Loving and hating his own blood, in the case of his birth father: the man who gave him both nothing and everything. Maybe that's why, for once, he has no flippant comment to make. ]

I don't know about here. The jury's still out on that. [ There are new opportunities to be had. But can any compete with the lure of power? TIME WILL TELL. ]
