[ A crown! A paper one, set down in front of the camera as Loki starts another. ]
Evening, Quarantine! Tonight in this broadcast is hereby declared Treats-For-Truths and origami gifts are now ready for sale! The price: tell me one of your secrets and I'll send a paper-something directly to you via magic. Please don't get too adventurous in your suggestions, I only have but ten fingers.
[ Other examples sit around the crown, such as a dinosaur, car, and (you're welcome, Thor) teeny tiny hammer. ]
Anyone who owns or is entitled to a crown will get one for free, in a colour of their choosing. Doodled details upon request.

So, how do you walk that delicate balance? ( Crowns can be lost, she wants to say. My mother's was. ) I pursue a throne, ye—
( For a long moment, she wonders just how he knows of her affiliation with dragons. Then she recalls that she's been speaking freely of them with many people now. Really, it shouldn't come as such a great surprises. Relaxing, she feels a little charmed by that, if wistful. )
—yet it might be replaced. My people, my children cannot; nor yours. Your work is quite fine, by the way.

[ If he knew what her expectation of dragonfire was he would make the little paper lizard spout some, but for now he simply enchants it with a tap of a finger so that it puffs tiny amounts of smoke. She hasn't technically played the game yet, so Loki keeps it. ]
We are here because we ran toward a better life, if only for a time. What we make of it is wholly down to us, but I do think this realm could benefit from a democratic council like the one my mother founded, the Congress of Worlds. Leaders were recognised and could take positions as senators, yet so could common-folk who wished to represent their own faction, and everyone had a say.
We have so many people in the Quarantine who are accustomed to leadership, would it not benefit us all to gather those minds when threats arise? They wouldn't be speaking for their world, simply to lend voices of wisdom. Be a guiding force.
[ He shrugs, toying with the little dragon. ]
Perhaps my ambition for this world is too great. I enjoy the chaos, too, and I am a poor prince with no inclination to cause a fuss.
[ Loki is the most humble, as anyone will insist. Just don't ask them. ]

It's true that several of the Free Cities are ruled by councils of magisters, ( She allows, brows knitting together thoughtfully. Is this what Tyrion believes to be the answer — to break the wheel? ) Have you mentioned this notion to others here, or am I the first? It might benefit us, since it doesn't seem as though those who brought us here have any greater purpose in mind for us than to put us in their service without our consent. I've had my fill of chains; even those one cannot see.
This past year, I found an equal with whom I seem to work well, our interests aligned. How many more like you and he and I are there?
( At that, she raises an eyebrow. )
Is it? I was told mine was, for wishing to expand the perimeter and thus the literal horizons of all living in this city.
( And Dany is only so humble and not at all ashamed of the fact. Her eyes narrow now, fixed upon the paper dragon. The conversation is forthwith marked as private. )
Once, I was drawn into a vision of my first husband and our son. And it was more than simply a little tempting to remain there with them. I would rather have a similar bit of knowledge about you than that dragon, however.

[ Did her friend help that confidence rise up, he wonders.
When she eyes the dragon and the line turns private, he laughs softly and plays with the little paper toy in long fingers as he answers. ]
Turning my own game on me? Nobody else has done that either, you're forging a trailblaze of firsts. Let's see ... I'm a god of the Aesir, chiefly of Mischief. [ With a wave of his hand he teleports the dragon over to her; it pops out of thin air with a flash of green light, smoke puffing from its nose. ] I'm not all-powerful, but I think I get along none too shabbily.

High praise, indeed, especially from a god. Tell me: have you and I met before, then? I try to remember every face as best I can, but you are quite familiar with me for us only having spoken for a little while.
( A small smile graces her face as she takes the little dragon between her hands delicately. )
It was a long journey to become so sure of myself, and I wouldn't mind lending my aid to the people here. A Spider once claimed that information is more valuable than any other currency.
He may have a point.

[ And he also watched three seasons of GOT because all of Hel got WiFi and now Asgardians are obsessed with the show, but it's rude to fourth-wall your heroes. ]
That Spider sounds like he knew a thing or two. I prefer the fox, myself, it always keeps its options open when it comes to fight-or-flight, whatever it knows.

You know now what I would do with the perimeter. We are far too enclosed here.
( She's not assuming his earlier words are mere flattery, because she considers that a truth regarding herself. )
Would that the Spider imparted such wisdom more readily. So might a dragon, in a more literal sense, perhaps. I am most partial to those. But I have grown fond of wolves of late.
I admit I know little of foxes.

We have dragons in Asgard, or once did. Only one truly remains but Jormungandr is not to be seen or heard. I think, if he were not so violent and wild, he would fly over the Quarantine and find the borders of little consequence when his gaze saw so much further afield. But a fox knows the land and can only work from the dirt-up; I know there are monsters in the caves and burrows that a dragon could not see from above, and I know the pathways to avoid them.
A perimeter could only be expanded if the very land were purged and the walls moved simultaneously, too great a feat for our current border patrol. It would require magic ...
Fortunately, I run in sorcerous circles.

Is it a grand council you seek, or a partnership between us? You have a point, but let us illustrate it plainly.
( And then he does a little bit, and a smile graces her face as she nods her head. )
Better. I admit to being not overly fond of magic; it's stolen much from me. But if you would put it to such practical use, I could grow accustomed to it.

[ Let him be Tyrion, he could totally be Tyrionnn. ]
I swear my magic will never cause you harm.
» private
( That's not the same as keeping secrets; she's well-aware that he's as like to have his own as she certainly does.
And Loki definitely puts Tyrion to mind. )
It is a beginning. If you do no harm to either Jon or I, I will do none unto you. You have my word.
( Does she trust him? Not completely. But the reverse is also probably true, in her mind. )

#bringbackdrogo2017Clearly, in between an existential crisis and ripping open the Tenth Realm, he missed a few seasons. Shouldn't Jon be at the Wall? Isn't there a ginger girlfriend? Loki's breakdowns are so inconvenient when it comes to staying up to date on TV shows. ]Ditto. I have family here from mirror-realms, a brother and a self-same twin, and a sister from my own; Angela is the heir and easily spotted for she towers over all with red hair, then Thor with one eye, and next myself. Lastly, my ward, the witchboy William Kaplan.
Wrongdoing against my family, I am sure you can appreciate, is unforgivable.

I have lost all the family I had and more besides; those remaining are mostly friends and part of my circle. But not family. Jon is my king, my love and my equal. In this place, he is all I have.
So, yes: I understand. Too well, perhaps. My dragons are not here — but I will defend him just as fiercely as would they.
( A small smile. ) I've not yet met most of your family. But Thor has been kind to me.
