Ivar! How could you hate snow!

I don't have a wheelchair back home. Only my arms to get me around. So you try dragging yourself through snowdrifts taller than your head and see how much you still like the stuff.

I mean, fair. But still. I had a busted up leg and was shot in my gut and crawled through snow- and I still love it.

[Sure, it was just one mission that had been that bad. But still. She was crawling and leaving a trail of blood in the snow. She ended up passing out more than once during that trek, eventually got hauled up by some teammates that found her and returned to the e-vac. But her point stands! She was incapacitated and hardly able to crawl through the snow, but she still loved it. Totally the same thing, right?]

Yeah, but I bet you don't look like Bambi making his way through a snow drift when you go out into the stuff. I do.

I mean. Same. I was a kid when I last watched it, but I did the same.

Those movies are all fucked up. They're all cute and innocent and then someone's parent dies. Just drives home that message of "No matter what you do, your parents are going to be taken away from you for no good reason."

Yeah, they seem to like doing that. Well, maybe not like doing it, but it happens more often than not, I think.

But I'll see them again someday. My father is in Valhalla and my mother is in Hel. [Not the Christian one, though they're pronounced the same way.]

That's...a positive way to look at things. [She doesn't know if she'll see her parents again, or her brother- while she's still in the air about if there's a heaven or hell or anything else, she's not convinced she'll go to the same place they are. She has a lot to makeup for still...

It keeps me from being eternally depressed.

Innies- the bad guys where I'm from- killed my parents. That dream you seen? That was their funeral, so I wasn't like a kid like Bambi, but it still sucked.

My father was tossed into a pit of snakes by an English king after being betrayed by another who claimed to be his friend. My mother got shot in back by my father's ex-wife because she wanted to claim her crown. It all happened almost at the same time.

[Yes, Ivar's family history was one big dramatic ninth-century soap opera.]

My brothers and I were in England just before I was pulled here. We'd killed one king and we were on our way to do the same to the other. Then I know my father can rest easy in Valhalla.

Killing my mother's murderer...I'm still figuring out a way to accomplish that which doesn't end up with me dead or then having to face my oldest brother, her son, all pissed off because I killed his mother.

I mean, could kill her son too if you go back. Kill them all for killing your family- it's only fair.

[Okay. So. Maybe she's not the best person to give advice on families and murder and such, she has a messy history with that sort of subject. But here she is, definitely helping]

I'd prefer to kill as few family members as possible. I don't have that many left.

Besides, Bjorn is tough. He once killed a bear with nothing but a knife and his hands. Both of us would end up dead if I went up against him.

I guess that makes sense.

[She supposes you should keep what family you have left close, but she doesn't know she could do that, if a half or step sibling killed her mother, she's not sure she could care...]

It sucks ass when you can't get people back after they fuck you over- if there's a way I can help, just, I don't know, lemme know.
