[Damian stares down his ...social worker... as she speaks. The woman explains the room, his bi-weekly stipend, the works. Still, Damian stares her down with a burning intensity that just screams 'I am displeased. Go. away. No mask, no Robin gear, just a pissed off teenager in a hoodie.

Clearing her throat nervously, she does leave and that's why Damian takes in his room. It didn't matter what the room looked like really, Damian wasn't having this communal living nonsense. He sees the extra beds in the room and ...that is just too many roommates. This is was 24-hour surveillance and he was not having that.

He frowns down at the device and switches it on. Have an annoyed looking ... 10-year-old? (No, he's 13 dammit, don't just assume things from his small stature!) glaring down at the camera.]

This communal living thing is not happening. What's the price range for houses or private apartments around here?

[He suddenly pokes at Jon's sides and stomach. According to his assessments, this was your tickle spot, wasn't it? Here, he will now school you in the art of distraction.]

[ Jon gives him a half-hearted glare, swatting Damian's arm away. ]

I was checking your resistance to distraction. [Said in a dead serious tone, but he might have a faint smirk.]

No, I'm sure they'd do much worse, Kent. If you can't even handle a tickle, how are you going to handle an alien monster trying to take your face off?

I'm pretty sure if any alien came this close, they'd lose their fingers.

[Damian says in a far more serious tone, but look away after he says it and settles back down. He likely went too far with that comment, he always tends to push things too far, but that Manchester thing happened so unsuspectingly.

He was slowly infecting Jon right under their noses and then...]

[ The colour slips from his face. ]

That was different. It's not like I ever met him until then.

What would meeting him have done? He still tricked you. He tricked all of us. [Damian snaps at him, a little angrier than he should have. It's just after all this time. Getting to know Jon, the idea of someone infecting Jon for however long right under everyone's noses?

Without his powers, this world would just eat Jon alive and that fact made Damian resent Superman. Having his child so unprepared for the harsh world of heroes and villains. Say what you will about Damian's parents, but at least they prepared him for this life.

Still, he hadn't meant to upset Jon. He looks away at the ground for a moment before muttering.]

[ Manchester Black still remains a sore topic, even if Jon triumphed over his brainwashing. Though he knows that it was different when the rift energy struck. He was not under his control, but wild with all the powers and futures he saw. Terrible and bright things that stuck under his heels like burrs. ]

No, you're not... [Damian frowns, but softly nudges Jon's foot with his own. Talking was not one of his strong points, but maybe now was one of those times Starfire mentioned, where it was just better to stay silent and let the other person talk.]

[ A threat? Someone who might just end up as a tool? Jon's aware of all of it. ]

[He says with a small shrug, because, yeah, it was just as simple as that.]

[ Jon pauses before shrugging. ]

I'll get better. It won't happen immediately, but I'll get there.

[Damian pauses before giving nod, turning back to the tv.]

[He deadpans. Why yes, that just might be a joke... but good luck being able to tell.]

Sure. Apparently, I could use the training.

Clearly, you did just lose.

[Damian starts up the game again, at some point Annie coming in and resting on their laps. Stupid dragon. Damian, of course, pets her when he gets a free moment.

It was a very educational training session. Who knew you had such a competitive spirit, Kent? He'll have to influence that out of you more.]

[ Jon rolls his eyes as he throws himself back into the game, his earlier sober mood totally forgotten. ]
