Christmas is a holiday that's pretty important, back home.
In Germany, it's a family affair, usually. It wasn't celebrated much in my own household, but the city outside was always decorated, and there was usually a parade in the streets on more beautiful nights.

I've heard it's different for some people.

And that gifts have more meaning than others.

I'm curious to know the differences, as I still don't really understand it, much.

We celebrated it elaborately! There was always plenty of food - and plenty to spare! Gifts - all wrapped neatly - and carols. The manor was decorated too in various hues of red, green, gold and silver.

But the truly important part of all of it was family and friends.

Green and silver are good colours. I remember there being a lot of red outside, too.

[But he can't really comment on the 'important part' of it being for friends and family. He's never experienced that. So instead:]

Was it just regular meals, like pasta or rice?
I can't imagine getting too excited over a plain dinner on whats supposed to be a big holiday.
