So here is a question: How would someone know that they like someone? Not just as a friend, but as more.

I've dated before, but this... this is different than that.

I have. In fact, you're speaking with him, above: Jon Snow. He's so unlike anyone I've ever met that it was easy to grow fond of him and more.

I think they have. We've spent time together, a fair amount of time and we've helped each other when we need it.

Oh? Was there something that made you realize you liked him, if you don't mind my asking?

But that's not always the same as indicating interest; have they said anything at all to you?

At first, it was his single-minded dedication to help his people, who he put before himself. I respected it; then his honesty, which you must understand: I'd only met one other honest man in my life, and he was more like a father to me. It was rare. But it was before his interest had been pointed out to me, before I'd realized just how deeply I felt.

He wanted to leave, to do something which would surely result in him being lost to me. The thought of that struck me, and we looked at each other for a long time. I couldn't, didn't want to imagine my life without him. And I still don't.
