If you heart leaps out of your chest every time you see them and your palms get sweaty from being anxious but for a good reason. I guess if you want to do whatever you can to make them happy and keep them safe is another way of knowing. When just seeing them smile makes you smile too.

Why is it different? If you are beginning to fall in love, that is a very singular feeling. You cannot mistake it for something else. {Then again, some might argue that he has never been in love. Rude.}

If seeing them happy means as much or more to you than anything you've ever wanted for yourself, it's likely.

re: thinking about them all the time
feeling extra excited when they smile at you or laugh at one of your jokes

but like friendship can be sappy in its own way too
all that stuff about killing for people or feeling calm around them or wanting to make 'em happy?
all of that can be friend stuff, tbh
really intense friend stuff but still friend stuff

imho the deciding factor is how bad you want to bone them
cuz i love all my friends, but i spend 0 minutes a day thinking about having sex with them
i know this sounds crude compared to everybody else in the comments but seriously
if you've got a friend and you start noticing way more when they touch you?
or thinking about how it would feel to run your hands through their hair or kiss their neck or whatever you're into?
