[Lyle is sitting on the floor of his communal floor, which lets face, he's currently the only resident of so its more like a private floor at the moment. There's probably the biggest grin people may have seen on his face in... ever here]

So I got the best surprise first thing in the morning. I've been wondering if I'd see him again and he's finally here.

[He glances over to the side]

Hey, come back over here. I know this is new.

[There's a pause and he's shifting his phone so he can still have it on him as he hefts a round orange robot into his lap, about the size of a basketball]

This is Haro. He helps with piloting my mobile suit back home. Say hello, Haro.

Haro! Haro!

[The "ear flaps" wave and the eyes flash]

Who? Who?

Who are we saying hello to? The people on the network. They can see us on the phone.

[And Haro rotates a bit under its own power as though its trying to look at the phone]

[ Well that's certainly.. interesting. Re-L can't help but to turn her head slightly, curious about the little piece of technology in front of her. There's nothing and no one around here quite like autoreivs, and that's fair enough, though the little bits that do keep popping up are certainly catching her interest over and over again. Some are a bit outdated so far as Romdeau's technology went, but this 'Haro' - ]

What exactly is a mobile suit? [ Well, she has to figure out just how advanced what he's helping pilot is, right? It's only fair. ]

He seems interesting. Almost like a little assistant?

How did he get to my floor? Someone from the perimeter guard brought him over.

[Haro recognizes the person on the other end of the phone!]

A mobile suit is a giant robot suit we pilot. It's vaguely humanoid though not to realistic proportions. Ours are called Gundams. Others had different names. Mine is a sniper so he helps with targeting.

I guess in a way he's a little assistant.

[Haro is watching the phone and seeing a new person, raises his ear flaps, almost like attempting to wave]

[oh, hey! it's Lyle on the network. Osomatsu is about to respond and say hi when he sees that the robot is being introduced. thanks to Lyle, he knows all about Haro]

Wh-whoa! No way! You got one!

[Oh, hey, it's Osomatsu!]

Not just any Haro. The Haro. He's the one who piloted all the mobile suits. Haro, this is Osomatsu.

Oso! Oso!

[Okay, Osomatsu might be a little long for Haro's speech pattern]

[Oso is perfectly fine! Osomatsu's just amazed that it said his name at all]

Man, you're pretty smart, Haro!

A giant robot... [ She seems vaguely... dubious about that one. Not that he'd have any reason to lie to her, to be sure, just... it's not something she'd ever encountered. Even in all her adventures, proxies, beings she could probably never even hope to understand, and there's still more to learn. Not all bad, to be sure, just a little maddening with too much thought. ]

How useful is that in stealth shooting, though? Something so large? [ Sniper inevitably means stealth, right? ]

So like Iggy, just... much smaller.

He's very smart. I'm glad he's here. Want to come meet him? Or I can bring him there.

Well, when everyone is using a giant robot, it's a little easier for it to be stealthy. The first design for my suit attempted to be more stealthy. Not really my style so my new suit is a little attack than stealth.

Iggy? What or who's Iggy?

Seems like it. I asked Haro how he got here when they first delivered him. I'm not sure I understand if Haro did it on his own or if it was an accident.

[Haros speaking in broken sentences and limited syllables doesn't help]

I'm at work right now, but I get off soon! You can either come here, or I can meet you guys elsewhere!

[Well, he has to take Haro out to see Quarantine anyway...]

Ah, that would explain it. [ Though why those kinds of things would even be necessary kind of escapes her. The problems of living in a nuclear wasteland she guesses. Food and trying not to disturb whatever was still living on the surface took precedence over building giant machinery. ]

Iggy was my autoreiv. Think of it as a ... well, for me he was a body guard, a personal assistant, and general company. Every fellow citizen of Romdeau Dome had one.

[It wasn't much later that Lyle showed up at the cafe. In order to open the door, he had to tuck Haro under one arm, but the Haro didn't really seem to care. He moved Haro back into his hands once he was through the door. As he walked in, he whistled almost as if he was trying to get attention]

[Lyle can't say why the giant robot thing started, but it is there. He can't exactly make the robots go backwards in size when everyone was trying to make them more powerful]

Autoreiv... Interesting. So is an autoreiv humanoid or do they have a different shape?

[that whistle causes several baristas to look up. and one of the girls makes a comment that Osomatsu's date has returned.

Osomatsu comes barreling out of the backroom, laughing nervously and telling the girl to get Lyle a coffee. then he moves around the counter]

Hey! [that was so embarrassing] You made it!

[Okay, he wasn't planning for that, but it did get a grin out of him when the barista made that comment. It was even more amusing how quickly Osomatsu came tearing out of the backroom, quickly trying to distract them from focusing on Lyle... at least somewhat]

Yep. And I brought my friend. Osomatsu, this is Haro. Haro, this is Osomatsu.

Haro! Haro!

[The haro flapped again]

Humanoid. No hair or.. human facial features, though. I'm sure that was an effort to make them human, but not so much that people would become.. too attached. [ Sure, people did anyway, but she supposed any effort her grandfather could've made would've been better than none, right? ]

They can be difficult to understand at times.

[Lyle keeps referring to Haro as his friend, but he's a robot... but that's really awesome! all kids want robot friends]

Nice t'meet you, Haro! How do you like Riverview?

[Lyle squints a little as he is picturing her description in his mind. Haro is still looking at the phone and flaps his ears again. Lyle is fairly certain Haro understands what a phone is so he's not sure what he's trying to do]

Yeah, I can understand that. They are human enough to be able to do human tasks, but they never quite have the human features so you can always just say they are a robot.

You'd never mistake a Haro for being human, but he is quite talented for the fact that he's a robot ball.

They can. All I can really gather is that whatever happened was not an attack, as in nothing pulled Haro through nor was he thrown in.

Yeah, Haro's fine. No dents, dings, anything like that. There's not even any dirt or fingerprints other than mine. I think the guard member who found him cleaned him off.
