At home, sometimes I thought that I'd really like to get a break from my family. The town I'm from isn't so great and well a lot of bad things were happening. I got mad at my dad a lot because it felt like I couldn't depend on him or any adult to care or help with the things that were happening. We ended up not needing the adults but it sucked.

I guess, it wasn't perfect at home but now that I'm here and my family isn't I really miss them. I wouldn't think I could miss them this bad. I miss going to the Synagogue and my dad making me study Hebrew. I always thought it was really annoying and boring.

Do you miss anything that you don't have here that you didn't think you could ever miss?

Is there anything that helps?

Maybe they go back home, maybe they're dead, just like if they'd died before. You think you're going to die?

Why the 'maybe'? You think so?

It just seems like a possibility.

And everyone has to die at some point.

Most people don't focus on it so much unless they think you're going to die. Or, they know somebody who is dying.

Maybe if they got really close to it before.

[brotrips]

So, somebody tried to kill you before and now you're worried they might again? Or just that anybody will?

Either way, I guess. It just seems possible.

Do you know how to fight? That's how you defend yourself.

Not really.

You keep saying adults. How old are you?

[stantheman]

13.

They tried to kill a kid, huh?

(That is obviously something that would anger most people, but Noctis understands what it's like to have a target on your back even as a child. Not only does it scare you, it colors your perception, it changes your entire life.)

I knew how to fight before that age, I guess. It was wooden swords, but it trained me for when I was older.

People don't usually fight with swords or anything where I'm from...

And I don't think that's the sort of thing that would have helped with It.

Not a lot of kids did where I'm from either. I just mean it's possible.

Swords and magic can defeat a lot of things.
