[The voice from the comm is probably familiar to at least some of the listeners, and while the message he conveys is, well, worrisome, his tone suggests he's completely in control.]
Good evening. I know I may be overstepping my bounds, but I was wondering if anyone else might have heard a disturbing rumor flying about the quarantine regarding some...beetles of unusual size that are, if the terrified gossipers are to be believed, heading straight for us?
I'll save my opinions on the continued existence of over-sized insects for the time-being and simply suggest we do something about it before we're all trampled into beetle dust. Any takers?

What does the day of the week have to do with anything?
Nevermind. That is a question for another time.
It was my next order of business.
I trust you'll be safe?

means basically: this is an absurd crisis but we have those all the time so it's ordinary by this point.
[ Cisco can text while throwing on his coat to rush out the door and head for his workshop, scoop up his tools and see what help he can give. ]
will do.
i want no part of that horrible giant beetle action
just gonna go make sure everybody's got all the big guns they need.
you stay safe too.
no subject
Regardless, guns may not be necessary, but are always welcome, at least in my limited experience with them. That is to say, I've only read about them.
If you stay away from the wall, you should be safe, at least if I have a say in the matter. I may not jump to combat at the drop of a hat, but those with the power to protect have a responsibility to do so, wouldn't you agree?
no subject
okay i'm off to help some folks fight some giant bugs
thanks for the heads up
see you out there maybe
no subject
Just try to avoid the fireballs.
I'll do my best to aim.

I can't help but if anyone gets tired I'll be back here with bandages and orange slices.
no subject
[He chuckles, though.]
Aren't you a dear? Hopefully that won't be overly necessary, but things happen when facing giant insects.
[A beat.]
I wish I didn't know that.
no subject
[She assumes he can connect the dots with that bit of information.]
I wish you didn't know that either.
no subject
(Wait, I'm not actually surprised that I was right.)
Ah, if wishes were reality...be careful, dear. We'll keep them at bay.
(Because there's no other option.)
no subject
[She waves a hand at the screen.]
Hit me up if something else happens.
no subject
(He chuckles. Some of the modern speech patterns amuse him, alright?)
I'll not be handling this alone, I assure you, but your confidence is appreciated.
no subject
[She flashes him a smile before hanging up.]

But yes, all aid would be helpful, I think.
no subject
[Damn it! It would've been so useful if he had his multiple attack skills. This will be very tedious.]
Just tell me where you need me.
no subject
(A pause.)
Given their size, a direct assault is most likely ill-advised. I'll admit, I typically leave the tactics of battle to others and just throw my fireballs where it seems they're the most useful.
no subject
Aside from that, my abilities aren't at their peak as they were back down so my options are rather limited. Currently, I can wield basic ice, thunder and healing spells, and basic defense. I will need a while until I'm a polished fighter again.
no subject
I, as it were, have also avoided any conflict with the local fauna. Perhaps we should have been more prudent?
no subject
The only animals I was in contact with were cats and fish from the local river, but those hardly count as dangerous. So yes, perhaps a little more interest in the local wildlife would help us the long way.
no subject
Well, I wish you luck in that regard. (And he chuckles.) Never underestimate the dangers of a house cat, but you a good point. I'll see what the library has on the topic.
no subject
Thank you. [Yu laughs as well.] Yes, they can be little devils sometimes. [But he loves the furballs anyway.]
I will try to look into things on my end as well. Two heads better than one?
no subject
Yes, and their fur...
(He leaves the rest to the imagination. It isn't as though it's difficult to follow.)
Well, it depends on the heads, but I think we'll manage well enough.
no subject
But yes, he easily knows what Dorian means. It's usually the reason why people dislike cats in the first place.]
Well, I came to realize that even slow on the uptake people can contribute to the cause. Sometimes, some of my friends would say something and it would give me an idea. Of course, it would be great if that were to happen more often, haha.
no subject
Oh, yes, I have no doubt of that.

Though I wouldn't protest Blackwall's presence, or our dear Cassandra.
...where are they when we need them?
audio. un: Dirthara
It would be nice to have someone to take the brunt of their focus while we slip in from the shadows. Or light them on fire, in your case.
No doubt going along with their lives without any notice that we're temporarily vacated Skyhold. And Thedas.
audio. un: Dirthara
(He misses Blackwall, too. And the Iron Bull. And Cole. He misses his library, damn it.)
But yes, it would be. I'm...afraid I haven't introduced the two of you, but what better way to meet?
(That tone...it's Dorian uncertain...)
audio. un: Dirthara
[Unseen, she’s tilting her head and frowning thoughtfully. He sounds uncertain. Which has her both curious and concerned. Whoever this person is that he’s speaking about, he’s nervous about her meeting them. There has to be a reason for that. And she has her suspicions, but will wait until she’s seen them together for confirmation.]
Nothing says proper introductions like battling over-sized beetles together.
audio. un: Dirthara
(Part of why Dorian doesn't simply say who Magnus is was the simple point of the finality of it. If he were to tell her who he was, then he'd have to accept what Magnus meant to him.
That was terrifying.)
I suppose we should get a move on with this battling then.

I might have a solution... do you know how many there are?
un: d.pavus
And no, I don't, though "stampede" tends to suggest quite a few.
no subject
Next to him was a red cat-like robot, about the size of a small lion. Beyond that in the living space of the house he was in was a much larger one, black, with red wings.]
These guys can probably take out a bunch on their own.
no subject
They do look rather capable. If there are so many, I don't hold much hope for eradicating them, not to mention they may well be native, and if so, there may be some sort of grand ecology we could be disrupting. Regardless, they enormous pests needs be taught our home is not their stomping ground, yes?
no subject
[Keith smiled.]
I don't mind them being out there, either, but as long as we have a safe space in here, it's okay.
no subject
(Dorian smiles in response.)
Let's get about it, then, shall we?
no subject
Meet you at the wall?
[Keith nodded.]

Quite right, preferably before they arrive and our "arses" are trampled, instead.
You mentioned you were one of those brutish types, handy with a sword and shield, then? Something to catch their attention while I set them on fire and my good friend Iona stabs them in the back, or whatever it is she chooses to do with those daggers of hers?
...you haven't met Iona, have you...?
[Suddenly he's nervous. Magnus meeting his friends...even if they're killing things together...]
no subject
And no, I have not. Should I?
[Dorian sounds... nervous? Would Iona dislike Magnus?]
no subject
Magnus. While I admit, I'm only familiar with normal-sized beetles, I know them, and most insects, to be heavily plated. Please bring a hammer.
[He even actually sounded a tad, a tad mind you, concerned for Magnus safety. Or at least he hopes it was only a tad.
It was more than a tad.]Well, I-
Yes, I suppose. She's...a friend. From home.
no subject
I was kidding, Dorian, of course I'm gonna bring weapons. I may be an idiot, but I'm not stupid.
I should meet her! I think you've pretty much met all of my friends from home. And if she likes beating up giant beetles as much as I do, we're gonna get along for sure.
no subject
(And there may be something there akin to concern. It's hard to tell with Dorian most days. He chuckled at Magnus' zeal, though. It reminded him of a certain Qunari, along with the casual way Magnus went about things. It was a comfort, in an odd sort of way, and it warmed Dorian to the man immensely.)
Oh, certainly. Iona has a way of getting along with everyone.
(Maybe it wouldn't be so bad after all.)
