Okay, I did the 'getting-used-to-this-place' thing and I have two questions.

First, where can I buy or borrow a bike. [She'll borrow one and live life pokemon style if she has too.] I'm already getting tired of walking everywhere.

[Willa doesn't make it clear if she's talking about a motorcycle or a bicycle. She's not that picky and either would do. However, she has very little to no experience driving a motorcycle but she's sure she could figure it out.]

Question number two. [She holds up two fingers and holds them in front of the screen.] What did you guys all do before you arrived here? Is it the same as what you do now? Be it jobs or hobbies or whatever.

[Anyone can respond or not, but Willa wants to meet more of the people here and see what kind of crowd she's dealing with. From the small sample she's run into, it's certainly an eclectic bunch.]

Yes that's right! It was something like that. Myself and a few others were always sent out to track down and capture or stop black market type dealings.

And what about you, what did you do back at home?

I worked at a bar.

How old are you exactly?

A bar? You must've met a lot of interesting people working there! I could never do something like that.

[ Mostly because his phobia and too many people in general. But at the question Shigeru is sheepishly smiling on his end. ]

I'm 28.

Sometimes. People are all the same after awhile.

[She doesn't think it's a big deal.]

Okay. It was a weird question but I met someone who I'm pretty sure was a child soldier and I'm trying to figure out if that's a common thing here.

You think so? I've met so many interesting and nice people here. It's hard to think that people can all be the same.

[ But what does he know. Shigeru isn't the biggest people person. ]

A child?! No that...that's definitely not a thing in my world. It's hard enough to control our powers as adults. I can't even imagine making children fight.

[ That would be a huge disaster not to mention cruel. ]

Depends on what you're looking at. They might have cool things happening around them but it's usually easy to guess what a person is thinking.

[A pause.]

Your powers?

So you're really good at reading and observing people? That's not an easy skill to build up!

But, yes, people like myself in my world have powers. They relate to...phobias.

[ He's gotten a lot better at mentioning and speaking of his powers at least. Though it always makes him self conscious to do so. ]

It helps when you spend a lot of time around people.

okay, what is yours then? And how the hell are they related to phobias? Is this somehow like that horror movie with the clown?

[ He's not from Earth so forgive him! He has a lot of movies to catch up with, huh? That one sounds...interesting though, so maybe he'll have to check it out. ]

I can break things down and reform them from a sub-atomic level. It...corresponds to my mysophobia.

Okay, what are you afraid of?

Germs. I...I really don't like germs, or when people touch me or my things.

[ It makes him feel...disgusting. He can't calm down or anything when people do that. It's gross and he really hates it but he's at least gotten better that he can handle the touch of two people now. So...progress! ]

Why's that bother you? It isn't like they're going to hurt you.

[ Oh. Ah. And this is why he gets so...self conscious when he talks about his phobia to people. Some people get it and others don't but he's used to having to explain himself. ]

It just does. I can't help it. It's just something about realizing that a lot of people are touching me, and not knowing where they've been, or what they've touched beforehand, or what if they didn't wash their hands and now it's on me. It's just something about the thought of it that makes me uneasy and it feels disgusting. I don't...want to be like this but I can't...help it.

So you haven't even kissed someone you liked? Or hugged them?

[That's... kinda sad.]

Not...at home, no. But here I've managed to. It's a nice feeling, being able to do normal things that everyone else can.

[ He's even had sex but it took over 7 months but, you know, it finally happened. ]

Back home my phobia was really bad. But I've had people here help me with it and I...really improved with it as a whole.

And you can still use this power thing? Even without your phobia?

I don't know...maybe? No one's ever really cured their phobia before. I mean people manage it back home, but no one's ever really gotten over it completely.

[ It's an interesting thought however. Shigeru wonders if he would keep his powers without his phobia. ]

I guess we would keep them, because the curse is still there? Curing our phobia doesn't mean the dark god's curse would be removed.

That's a first.

This curse is...the only reason why I have powers or my phobia at all.

Sometimes I wish I didn't have them but I've helped so many people with my powers, it's confusing.

Well, what do you like better: helping people or not being scared of people?

I...I want to be able to do both.

[ he doesn't want to be overshadowed by his phobia or anything like that. ]

I don't want my phobia to rule over who I am or what I can do. It's one of the reasons why I...push myself so much.

[Well this is awkward.]

Then keep working towards both. Sounds like you know what you want.
