back home, one of the main things I used to do was train people to control their abilities - i've spent quite a number of years teaching myself control through various techniques, as it's pretty essential for me to keep things in check.

I used to be in the Marines. Now I'm also a resistance fighter.

are the marines a form of military?

[tanker]

yes. they're a branch of the navy, which specializes in naval operations. but marines are also infantry in other combat theaters, which is why i was in the desert for a while.

so you fought on land and sea. that's interesting. my time was spent mostly in space.

so when you say you're a pilot, you mean... of spaceships?

a MG-100 StarFortress SF-17 to be exact. but i wasn't the pilot usually. i was the gunner.

where I'm from, space is still the great unknown

really? so you don't get to travel to other planets at all?

[tanker]

we have... probes, and unmanned missions, satellites, this kind of stuff. But the further man has gone so far is our own moon.

I guess in a way, I don't mind. We're fighting enough on our own turf, I can't imagine bringing it to space.

I didn't go to space until I was older. But it's unlike anything I've ever done.

Wars?

endless wars. all over the planet. I feel like I've been fighting my whole life.

me too. except they were silent wars. horrible things happening without many people knowing about it.

[tanker]

oh, we get that, too. politics.

It all feels very pointless, and i say that as someone who's spent most of his life fighting.

for me. it has a point. to stop atrocities from happening over and over again. i had to help stop what happened to my planet from happening to others.

I agree with you. I'm fighting because I'm trying to give my people the freedom they deserve. I've just had a lock of knockdowns, recently.
But thank you, for reminding me, there's a point in it all.
