[ It's still the small hours of the morning when Yuri flips his video on to record; he's in one of Otabek's oversized t-shirts, and still in bed from the looks of it. His free arm not holding the phone is slung around Otabek's neck, and at first glance it looks as though Yuri is flipping off the camera- but no, that's his ring finger on proud display, a delicate band of black with inset diamonds clearly and proudly shown off for the world to see. Yuri's smiling like he never does- wide and proud, his eyes shut and scrunched up with obvious delight. If one were to look closely, they might even see the faintest hint of tears still clinging to his blond lashes.

With a jubilant shout, Yuri gets on to let the inhabitants of Riverview know: ]

GUESS WHO'S FUCKING ENGAGED, BITCHES!!!! [ He whoops excitedly, turning his head as though he's about to kiss the side of Otabek's own face, but the video ends before he gets there, preferring that kind of affection for private, thanks. ]

[small hours of the morning, but minsu's already awake. his shift starts soon, and he doesn't need a lot of sleep to begin with.

with everything still as new as it is, he actually can't sleep.

he sees this, and he almost shouts back an answer before realizing that it was meant more as one of those questions that answers itself. so he peers closer, inspecting the ring before smiling.]

Ah...congratulations! This must be a lucky time of year for that!

Yeah... its pretty cliche if you ask me. [ But by the way Yuri keeps smiling- wide, fond, he doesn't really mind that much at all. ]

Thanks. I'm really- [ He breaks off for a moment, before letting a breathless laugh out, shaking his head. ] I never thought about myself getting married. Never wanted it much, but... I'm really happy.

[foxtrots]

Maybe things become cliche for a reason. They're so good that everyone wants to do them.

[minsu waits for him to explain, slightly wide-eyed and nearly holding his own breath. this is better than a drama, okay.]

What changed your mind? Like what do you like about them the most?

Yeah, that's true. He put a lot of thought into it, and- well. Valentine's day, it's easy to remember, isn't it? [ He smiles, dropping his head into one of his hands, looking away for a moment- looking fondly at something off camera. (It's Otabek.) ]

What do I like about him the most? Is everything an appropriate answer? [ He laughs, grinning and looking back to the camera. ] I like his determination, I like how much his country and his family mean to him- I like how driven and hard working he is. I like that he makes this cute little snoring hiccup noise sometimes in his sleep- [ Suddenly bashful, Yuri drops his head, smiling and hiding behind his hair, against his hand. ] He's just a really good person, y'know?

[foxtrots]

[that's a lot of things. minsu tries to count them at first, before just stopping and just listening. the way love is, that list could go on awhile. he can tell that he stops before he's really finished.]

Yeah, I know.

Take care of each other, okay?

I will. I hope to- [ Covering his face with his hand, Yuri could hardly hide the smile peeking out despite his best efforts. ] -For the rest of our lives, at least. I'm going to make sure it's a really long, happy life though. With everything I can.

We're very lucky. I'm crediting being here, in part.

[minsu blinks at that. it surprises him for some reason, but then it just leaves him curious.]

At home, we live in different countries, so we're able to spend time together here we wouldn't have gotten.

[his expression brightens. it's a light bulb moment.]

I didn't think of it like that, how this place can bring people together instead of breaking them apart.

Opportunities to meet new faces. It's been positive for many.

[ Of course he also means himself! ]

I like that too. [he closes his eyes for a moment, seeming happy. and why not? a happy occasion, new opportunities.] I didn't have many friends back home either, but I had Sage so it was okay.

[his eyes are still closed, but that happy aura sort of dissipates. minsu opens his eyes again.]

Hey! Can I come to the wedding!

[ A few guys around home and....Yuri. ]

[ Y'know, not that he minds. He doesn't even really have friends here, either. ]

[ He doesn't find he's the most social person himself, so he figures he'd ask. ]

Yeah, I've only been here for a couple of weeks.

[minsu inhales deeply, blinking a few times as he sighs.]

Maybe I'll go home before your wedding. I've heard it can take awhile though.

Oh - wow. That's very new.

[ Well, compared to him and others he knows. ]

You never know. I've known people to leave after a few weeks. I've been here about ten months.

You'll be celebrating a year soon.

[and it feels like it really will be a celebration for him. a year is a big deal. minsu's old, much older than he looks, but he's celebrated that kind of milestone himself recently. the turning over of a new leaf.

but for here, a few weeks would be just fine for minsu. long enough to try a few strange new foods.]

Any advice for a newbie?

Before I know it.

[ He didn't really think much about how time was flying by, but it really did. ]

"Keep busy" is my best advice. I've found that time has flown by because I'm always doing something.

[ And - ]

Make sure it's something you really like to do, too. Don't do things you don't like. Unless...I mean, that thing you like happens to be murder or something.

[minsu rejects the last thing that he says. maybe he's taking it too seriously, but otabek might've meant it seriously.]

I guess I could always work more. I haven't developed a lot of hobbies.

[ Hard to tell with Otabek how serious he might be...but he doesn't backtrack or speak about it. ]

Ah, well. It's a good time to get one.

[ He pauses. ]

What do you like to do? Or like?

[ He kind of feels bad that the guy doesn't have hobbies, but Otabek has several, and well - he's testing the waters with someone who seems eager to go to a wedding. ]

Eating...

[he's starting to feel ashamed. it seems like food is the only thing that he's talked about to anyone here, when he's used to his habits being already known, accepted.]

Music is nice. And I can run for pretty long distances.

I'm a DJ and do entertainment for several clubs here. Have you considered learning an instrument?
