[ It's still the small hours of the morning when Yuri flips his video on to record; he's in one of Otabek's oversized t-shirts, and still in bed from the looks of it. His free arm not holding the phone is slung around Otabek's neck, and at first glance it looks as though Yuri is flipping off the camera- but no, that's his ring finger on proud display, a delicate band of black with inset diamonds clearly and proudly shown off for the world to see. Yuri's smiling like he never does- wide and proud, his eyes shut and scrunched up with obvious delight. If one were to look closely, they might even see the faintest hint of tears still clinging to his blond lashes.

With a jubilant shout, Yuri gets on to let the inhabitants of Riverview know: ]

GUESS WHO'S FUCKING ENGAGED, BITCHES!!!! [ He whoops excitedly, turning his head as though he's about to kiss the side of Otabek's own face, but the video ends before he gets there, preferring that kind of affection for private, thanks. ]

[Idly scrolling in the wee hours of a sleepless morning, this is not... at all... what Bucky expected to find on his feed. He has to take a few minutes to process it, because yeah, that's his student on the video showing off an engagement ring and yelling at the camera with clear and obvious excitement. Jesus, how old is he now? Sixteen, seventeen?

But young people are not known for thinking things through. He was like that once. Never got engaged, but he did make plans in his head at the time to spend the rest of his life with a dame he'd only just met. Yuri's at least known Otabek for longer.

He doesn't switch on the video until he's decided how best to react. Telling Yuri his concerns will just make the kid push him away, and selfishly, he doesn't want that. Not when he's decided to stay.

When he does switch on the video, he's changed into the "world's okayest dad" t-shirt Yuri got him for a gag gift at Christmas, and he quirks a brow pointedly at the screen.]

Thanks for letting your mentor, who cares about you oh so much, know first, kid. [He's got a hell of a poker face, but there's a slight glint in his eyes that Yuri might recognize.]

[ It's awhile before Yuri comes back to his phone; he's got other things on his mind, after all. A fiance to celebrate, and celebrate with. But when he does, he can't help the way his cheeks colour, before hitting the video call button to ring Bucky back. And when his mentor answers, well- Yuri just lets out a long, low raspberry, tongue flapping and everything, though there was a slight smile curving at the corners of his lips. ]

I literally posted that seconds after I found out. Jeeze. I wanted to shout it from the rooftops you know? [ He beams, not in the least deterred by that ol' poker face trick. Too happy and excited for the future to do anything else but smile. ] You know now, duuuuh.

[He laughs before he can really help himself. It sort of reinforces in his mind that maybe Yuri is too young for this, but young teenagers do this shit all the time, don't they? Think they're more grown up than they are, rush into things. He hasn't announced a wedding date yet, at least.]

You could have texted me before you shouted it to the whole quarantine. I see how it is. [He chuckles.] I ain't throwin' you a bachelor party.

[ Because he apparently can't resist the one time he's feeling a tiny bit like being smart. But, the tone he has is totally...completely serious sounding. Is he being serious? Who knows. Hard to tell by his expression. ]

We'll make sure you're the first to know when we start having children.

[ Yuri lets out an indignant shout of Otabek!!! before falling apart in laughter, burying his face against the other's shoulder, hiding his blush- and his smile. ]

[small hours of the morning, but minsu's already awake. his shift starts soon, and he doesn't need a lot of sleep to begin with.

with everything still as new as it is, he actually can't sleep.

he sees this, and he almost shouts back an answer before realizing that it was meant more as one of those questions that answers itself. so he peers closer, inspecting the ring before smiling.]

Ah...congratulations! This must be a lucky time of year for that!

Yeah... its pretty cliche if you ask me. [ But by the way Yuri keeps smiling- wide, fond, he doesn't really mind that much at all. ]

Thanks. I'm really- [ He breaks off for a moment, before letting a breathless laugh out, shaking his head. ] I never thought about myself getting married. Never wanted it much, but... I'm really happy.
