[So it looks like a familiar face has returned after a couple of weeks away. He's only been gone a short time, but it's clear more time has passed for Ivar. He's aged about a year, maybe two, and his hair is different. But there's some things that never change. His eyes are still angry and sharp, missing nothing around him, and he has a look on his face like he's contemplating murdering everyone in Riverview. It's quite possible he's gotten crazier and more unstable. in his time away.]

I always knew I'd make it back here. Something about it made it inevitable. You all really should just learn I'm always right and not question my judgment.

[Oh yes, his arrogance has only gotten greater. That's what happens when you win almost every battle as the teenage leader of an army. Also, it appears the video is being filmed from an unusual angle for him, almost like he's standing up rather than sitting down.]

So if I've missed anything of vital importance, feel free to tell me, but I've got some catching up to do with people.

About two years. I lost track after we took York.

[Sieges are dull affairs and the days all tend to blur together.]

Yes. I guess they must call it the same thing in the future? It's easy enough to capture a city. Holding onto it is the real task.

[Fortunately, Ivar had done both, so he was feeling pretty proud of himself right now.]

[ There's something of a drawl in his tone, as well as a vaguely irritated expression on his features, something pinched and annoyed. ]

[ His last birthday was spectacularly shitty, is what's up with Yuri. And he's moping about it, just a little. He misses home, misses his grandpa, misses Yuuri and even Viktor- even despite the fact that they hadn't left on the best terms. That Yuri was still a bit stung with how things had gone down. And taking it out on Ivar? Well, that just seemed mighty convenient. ]

Wouldn't you be so lucky as to return to that news. [ He rolls his eyes, huffing a breath out and blowing his bangs briefly from out of his eye, before they fall back into place once more. ]

So, home the shit show you remembered? Everything you hoped it would be?

Exactly. War, death, and destruction. Though I'm sure most of my family hates me right now.

[And he's not too sure about Hvitserk at the moment either, despite the fact his brother had sided with him. Still, Ivar's never been one to give into self-pity easily, so he'll push things aside, and face his emotions later. The fact later rarely came was of no consequence.]

I don't deny it. But most people aren't worth getting along with.

[Ivar is irritable, pissed-off most of the time, in constant pain, and just generally has an abrasive personality. It's not the best combination for being someone that people get along with.]

Why did everyone think I was going to die at some point back home? I plan to die only after I've conquered all of England and become the most famous man in the world.

Good. The gods have yet to fulfill my fate. I figure I'm not meant to die yet considering how many arrows have been shot at me in battle without a single one hitting.

[Rey is taken aback to actually see Ivar. He said he'd only be gone a few weeks, but it looks like more time has passed for him. However, there is doubt in her mind that this Ivar was the same one she last saw. Considering what happened with Poe...she has reason to have doubts.

And considering all the shit with the First Order popping up, one can never be too careful.]

[Oh dear. It's someone else that he still feels complicated feels over. Really, you'd think two years would have given him ample time to sort himself out internally, but you'd be wrong. He spent most of that time killing a lot of people, plotting out strategies, and ending up with his family hating him.

His voice is a little gruff, but there's something in his eyes that looks softer than he intends.]

Do I look like I have the time or effort to try and trick you?

[ Rey wants to believe it’s Ivar, but she has doubts. She wants to be sure, she doesn’t want to be tricked. And, if this was a trick, she would be utterly pissed. But, in looking at him, seeing his piercing blue eyes...it’s not a trick. It’s real.

There’s a faint smile on her face, something fonder than she intended. ]

Possibly. You were always fond of getting into mischief.

True. But not five minutes after I just got back. I need food, a bath that actually runs on hot water, and a nap before I do anything. In that order.

[Oh yes. That's right. He'd promised they'd talk. This is going to end up involving feelings, isn't it? Argh. Well, he can't go back on his word now.]
