[ The video feed opens with a very closed in camera angle of Genji in his full cyborg armor attire. It's impossible to tell what his expression is and it's very much the point. His back and shoulders seem awkwardly stiff, like he forgot how to seem casual all of a sudden. ]

I have... a question. What is the usual protocol when someone here discovers they may be developing an 'ability'— [ Finger quotes and all. ] —that they did not have before? Because—

[ Genji’s words are cut short abruptly by a shriek that could only belong to his darling roommate. Then hurried steps across hardwood floors can be heard before the phone is seized from Genji’s hands and into view comes Hana, who looks a bit red-nosed and glassy-eyed. Her brows are furrowed as she peers into the camera, frown pulling at her lips. ]

We. Need. Help!

[ Then the view switches to the phone’s outer camera, which reveals that their surroundings - their apartment - is just crawling with vines, leaves, flowers, everything. In the center of this view is Hana’s neon-lit, super souped up gaming rig, which the plants are slowly creeping onto. ]

Genji has plant magic now and— eh-chyi [ that’s a sneeze, apparently ] I’m dying. They’re attacking me!

[ It's obvious now why Genji was so visibly awkward. He clears his throat, it sounding like static through his helmet modulation. ]

It is not quite as... urgent, but. Any advice or assistance would be appreciated. [ He picks off a little plant seedling that was growing in the crevices of his armor. ] And maybe any recommendations for good allergy medicine as well...?

[ Oh no, Shigeru seeing all of this... Genji's face is definitely red now. ]

I, ah— I think if you can help Hana that would be great. I think we've got the... bigger issue contained for the time being.

[ Aka the handcuffs Cisco brought. ]

[ He smiles happily there and then, just to make Genji feel a little less embarrassed. ]

It's a...really great power for you. It suits you. [ Even if the circumstances of it are a bit wild, Shigeru can definitely see Genji using his powers for nothing but good. ]

I'll come over then? It now okay? I can help you clean up too.

[ Leave it to his dear boyfriend to make him feel better and flustered all at the same time. He wants to cover his face but he can't with his hands currently bound.

So he just smiles a little sheepishly. ]

Thank you... I just hope I can figure out how to get a handle on it soon. And you can come over whenever you like. We're just trying to make it... manageable.

Is...is that why your hands are bound? [ He frowns a little when he sees the cuffs on his wrists. ]

That's...suppressing your powers, right? [ He doesn't sound very happy about that either. But after his last encounter with such a device it's no secret that he doesn't really...like them all that much. ]

But I'm going to come over soon. [ He's actually already getting up from his seat to do so. ]

[ Ah, he never wanted to upset him... ]

It is, yes. But it's just temporary and I agreed to it. So don't worry. [ He shifts a little. ] I want to be able to control it.

[ He smiles a little tiredly. ] Then I'll be waiting for you.

O-Okay, if you're sure. [ He doesn't really like it but he knows Genji is in good hands with Hana there and him coming over shortly. ]

I'll bring something to eat too. [ Because using all that magic is probably exhausting?! But Shigeru will show up a half an hour later with a bag filled with delicious smelling food. He'll give a little knock on the door waiting for Genji to answer it. ]

I am. Don't worry, no one is forcing me to do anything I don't want to.

[ He smiles. ] Thank you, you're wonderful. We'll see you soon.

[ Genji opens the door awkwardly, hands still bound, and gives his boyfriend a tired smile. ]

Hello, love. [ Genji raises his hands up a bit. ] I think if you duck under here I can hug you....?

[ Shigeru is just smiling sheepishly when Genji opens the door. He might duck under his arms to press up against him to give him a warm kiss before flustering a little. Those handcuffs though...and after the kink expo to boot.

He'll move back under Genji's arms to close the door and step inside then. ]

You sound tired. Are you sure you're alright with those on?

[ He might touch Genji's face lightly with a gloved hand. ]

It's not...draining to wear them is it? [ He just worries is all. ]

[ Ah, kisses from Shigeru always make him feel like he could do anything. So... it's probably for the best he still has these cuffs on. (And yes, that definitely crosses his mind. Oh dear.)

He returns the kiss softly, and then once he's inside he leans into that hand. ]

It feels strange, but I'm okay. I don't want to take them off until all of this is cleaned up.

Mm. Where did you get them from?

[ So Shigeru can go find out and ask for a pair himself, just as a precautionary measure. ]

Do you want to eat first or maybe I can help clean some of these plants up. It won't...hurt you, right, if I use my powers on them?

Cisco brought them, he makes them for the police to use. [ He moves his wrists, the handcuffs making a little sound. ] It definitely isn't a permanent solution.

[ Genji nudges at a vine with his foot as he checks his internal readings. Ah, yes, the stress of this has his stored energy a little low. ]

Don't worry, we checked and I'm not connected with these plants. Just.. making them grow. [ He looks down at his hands. ] And eating would be nice but...

[ He trails off then gets a flirty smile on his face. ] Perhaps you could feed me then?

[ Genji no. ]

[ Genji yes.

Shigeru's face will just light up in a nice reddish hue. He'll laugh a little at that suggestion but he doesn't seem to mind?! ]

I can do that, if you want. I don't want my dear boyfriend to starve after all. And making all these plants has probably left you hungry, right?

[ He doesn't even care. He'll feed Genji if it helps him out. He'll back in to give Genji a soft kiss. ] Food first then I'll help clean this up. With my powers it won't take long at all.

[ Genji chuckles a little bit and returns the kiss happily. ]

You're too kind, my love. It has definitely tired me out, that's for sure. Mostly from the spectacle of it all.

[ Have another smooch on the cheek. ] Gintoki-kun cleared out a good chunk of it, but there are still... straggles. And some in very hard to reach places. I honestly don't even know how it happened.

[ At least none got in the toilet... ]

You don't...know what caused it? Maybe something with your emotions? I know my powers are connected with mine, I think a lot of people's are.

[ Though he has to wonder what kind of feelings Genji was having to cause all of this? ]

If you want to talk about it, we can. I-I want to do whatever I can to help you. [ And he'll go to the kitchen to prepare Genji a plate of some food and something to drink. He'll return a few minutes later and take a seat next to him. ]

So. Do you think it was anything bad that caused it? How...how were you feeling when it happened?

I think they have to be. It's the only way it makes any sense.

[ He goes and settles at the table, leaning back on it with his bound hands resting on top of it. ]

I— I'm not sure yet. I haven't been unhappy at all, especially the last few weeks. [ He hums. ] I guess something positive making things 'grow' makes sense in a way, doesn't it?

[ He looks a little shy all of a sudden, voice hoarser as he speaks in a soft tone. ]

Maybe I just... got lost in thoughts of you for a while. Especially in my sleep.

[ Shigeru will sit next to him then, eying Genji curiously and the plants around the house too. ]

It does but it could also be bad thoughts too. But I'm really glad it's not and that you haven't been feeling unhappy.

[ Though at those next words Shigeru's face goes red. Oh. Oh. He wasn't expecting that to be Genji's answer?! But he looks so incredibly happy all at once and he's not sure what to say? But his smile turns a bit mischievous at the shy sort of look Genji has. He'll lean in to kiss him deeply though, smiling through it as he sits back in his seat. ]

Well I'm just really glad it's nothing bad. [ He might put some of that food on a fork and hold it out for Genji to take a bite. Watching him with a loving look all the while. ]

So. Do I-I really make you that happy? [ His voice is just a little bit teasing now. Shigeru no. ]

[ It's a bit of a role reversal, that's for sure. Genji's own cheeks go a little red before the kiss, which he happily returns. It's definitely a good thing that the cuffs were on, because who knows how many plants would grow from this.

He takes a bite of the food and chews it slowly, still shyly silent. He licks his lips and meets his eyes, his own softening. ]

Very much so. [ He can't cup his face like he usually does, so he drops his hands down to rest on Shigeru's knee. ] You are a tenderness I never thought I would have the privilege to be around.

[ Genji being this shy is...certainly something to behold. He's never really seen the other act quite like this before and he does enjoy it a lot now that he's had a chance to see it firsthand. It's amazingly docile and...cute? He never knew Genji could ever get like this, it's really refreshing to see.

He'll rest a gloved hand over Genji's with a warm smile while the other rises up to lightly touch his cheek. ]

And you're everything I-I never thought I'd find in someone. [ He honestly doesn't know how Genji is even real?! He's just so perfect and amazing he's not sure he even deserves Genji sometimes, but he's glad and happy to have him in his life. ]

I am kind of curious about what sort of thoughts you were having though.

[ His smile is a bit wryly as he gives Genji a look. He's totally going to stop teasing you Genji, he swears! ]

[ It's certainly very rare. He's always been rather shameless, then used the helmet and mask to his advantage for years. Genji has not always been so... easily exposed.

He leans into his hand and hums happily, smiling. He's still a little pink cheeked, but the fluster is fading. ]

I had long accepted this would be something I could never have. I have never been so glad to be proven wrong.

[ His shyness returns for a second before his eyes get hooded, getting flirty. ]

Well, after that 'adventure' we had in that expo... it was difficult to think of anything else.

I'm...I was the same too. I never thought anyone would want to be with someone like me, because it would be difficult and too much of a burden.

[ Ah. But Genji leaning into his hand makes Shigeru laugh a little, leaning in to kiss him lightly on the lips. ] I'm so glad that I told you that I love you that night.

[ Because his feelings haven't changed and probably have only grown since then. Though at Genji's words his own cheeks flush as his eyes look down at the cuffs on Genji's wrists. ]

I-I've been...the same. [ And his hand will drop to run along Genji's before resting on the handcuffs. ] I...want to try it with you. But when you're better. [ he doesn't want Genji's powers going out of control...but if his feelings towards Shigeru are what's causing them how is that going to work?! ]

So...I'm the one causing this, right? I don't want you to...to have to go through this again though. [ He feels terrible that this happened at all, honestly. ]

Do you think me not stopping by for awhile will help get you better at controlling it?

You are never a burden, Shigeru. I promise you that.

[ He smiles as they kiss, chuckling a little softly out of happiness. ] As am I. I was so nervous that night, I'm still surprised I didn't make a fool of myself in front of you.

[ His voice gets a little lower and he leans back in to kiss his cheek as he touches the handcuffs. ] I'd like that... waiting will make it that much better, I think.

[ But he pulls away and looks a little alarmed by what he says next. ]

What? No, I don't think it's you. Just— I felt so much. It could have been over anything.

[ Genji manages to take his hands and hold onto Shigeru's. ]

I always want you by my side, love.

[ Shigeru will sigh a little and look flustered, awkward, and uncertain all at once. He doesn't want Genji to get hurt either but at least he feels a bit better about the whole thing. ]

I-I know. It's just...I want you to get better. [ He doesn't want to disrupt Genji getting better. ]

I don't want to...ruin any of that. So whatever you think would be easiest...I-I'll do it.

I will, don't worry. I have weathered worse storms than this. It is just... confusing? [ He tilts his head a little. ] And I suppose I would have liked to have been asked first, but.

[ He smiles. ]

You being here by my side is perfect. And with the food.

[ Then opens his mouth like some kind of goofy cyborg bird, to lighten the mood. ]

This place never really asks us much before anything they do, does it? [ Shigeru smiles as he gets another fork full of food ready for Genji. ]

Oh? Well th-that's good. I-I really like being with you. It...it would have been really difficult to stay away...

[ Is he blushing? He sure is... ]
