{ Vincent is taking a brisk walk - exercise is good for the mind and body, you know - looking less like the dapper British gent than usual. Modernity is creeping up on him and he is just the sort to embrace it, bit by bit. }

It really is a shame servants can't be employed here - or am I wrong? Is it more a question of price? I can understand wanting to be well-compensated. I always thought I was an easy Master -

Why would I look otherwise? The weather has been fair enough that I can't risk getting sick.

I haven't been seriously ill in some time. [Except that time with the circus...] And I know you and Undertaker can handle anything if I do become sick.

... Did you make Diedrich cook for mother and I when we were sick?

There was at least one time where Diedrich, your brother and I cooked for you and your mother. It was...interesting.

It was good. [He remembers it. If only because Sebastian had found the recipe.]

You don't good though. I don't think Gramp ever let you into the kitchen if he could help it.

Gramps was my Gramps before he was yours. { He sips on the hot brew. } I really don't have a talent for cooking.

Undertaker is a good teacher.

He would have said that wasn't a proper duty for an Earl. { With that smile of his. Gramps taught him all about grinning like the freaking Cheshire Cat. }

He has a lot of experience.

I think that might have been an excuse. Even nobles should have some knowledge of cooking. [He knows that now. Even if being drawn to other worlds is unheard of where they come from, they could still end up in strange situations that force them to cook for themselves.]

He does. And he doesn't make it boring.

You really think so? I wasn't bad with the meat. { Tying it up, that is. But he enjoys handling rope and tying people up. If he's being entirely honest. ~~Which he probably should never be.~~ }

He's special to both of us. I suppose that makes sense.

He is. I'm not sure I'd have managed half so well as I have without him.
