Holy-- Cujo! [ There's a genuine grin from Chase. His puppy! And some adorable fox! Keep it together, Chase. You've got a witchy rep to uphold. ]

Thanks, man. [ That's a sincere thanks, too. A rarity from Chase. ] They shuffled me around, so I'm on the first floor now. I take it you moved out?

[ Or maybe Billy doesn't stay at the Sanctum whatsit. ]

I moved out, yeah. It was getting crowded.

( and the sanctum has plenty of rooms, some full of mice and others full of weird magic things and dogs and foxes and snakes. . )

Give me ten minutes, I'll bring him and his stuff over?

( it's less than ten minutes later that a shimmery blue human-sized portal appears in the common area of the first floor--and out of it runs cujo the teenaged menace dog, followed by billy with a giant-assed dog bed and a few bags in hand before it closes up behind him. )

[ CUJO'S SO BIG NOW. Gangly adolescent dog. Chase immediately jumps off his bed and gets his arms around the dog, who's wiggling and wagging his tail something fierce. What a good dog.

Chase looks up at Billy with a grin. ]

I can't believe you looked after him this whole time.

[ Look, he's not used to people like. Being. Friends?? ]

We already had a snake and a fox to look after and a ton of talking mice, one more animal wasn't that big of a deal.

( when you already have a hoard of animals one more doesn't make that much of a difference. billy sets the dog bed down on the ground, puts the bags down inside of it. )

I brought over a dog bed we got for him and a bag of food, some treats, and toys.

I bet he had a good time with 'em. [ Chase gives Cujo one more scritch on the ears, then gets up to greet Billy. Wow, a bed and supplies and everything... And here he is, never really knowing how to respond to kindness.

So he just extends a hand for a half-handshake half-highfive. Whatever that teenage guy version of a greeting is called. ]

Thanks. I owe you one. Seriously.

Yeah, no problem. I figured you'd be back for him one day.

( and even if chase didn't come back--billy wouldn't just. leave a dog. maybe he's not the best pet owner but none of the ones he's taken care of have complained yet. the handshake/highfive/fistbump whatever's returned with a smile. )

Maybe Caleb will come back soon too. ( to try and keep chase in line, clearly. )

[ He lets out a scoff at that. Even if he'd like to see Caleb again, it's hard for him to admit it, because it's pathetic. Better to hide everything in sarcasm and shitty jokes. ]

Pretty sure he's living up with Sarah back home, all [ Cue sarcastic use of jazz hands! ] happily ever after.

( he--gets that. a little, anyway. the missing people, even if it's not in the arch-nemesis who went back home way. he misses the friends left behind back in his own universe, misses a lot of things more than he cares to admit. )

It's a possibility, but I'm sure he'd still miss you. ( one doesn't really just forget the snarky assholes in their lives. ) You're welcome to come hang out at the Sanctum, if you want. I'm sure Doctor Strange wouldn't mind.

[ Chase lifts his brows, though he's definitely interested. ] 'Dr. Strange'?

[ But he grins all the same. ]

I'm game. What's it like?

The Sorcerer Supreme back where I'm from. It's his actual, real name. Promise.

( the sanctum is amazing and strange is a little.. strange but also amazing and he has so many cool things. billy could nerd out about him for forever. )

It's cool. There's a fridge full of tiny facehuggers, an endless amount of rooms, and the building itself is pretty.. alive.

[ Oh, his eyes are widening with growing excitement. That place sounds like a MAGICAL PARADISE. With a happy snorfle, Cujo butts his head against Chase's legs and hand, demanding attention, which manages to shake Chase from his dreams of cool magic rooms and tiny facehuggers. ]

He'd be okay with me hanging out there? Even though my magic's all... on the darker end of the spectrum?

I don't think it matters what the origin of your ability is, but what you choose to do with it that really counts.

( chase has made questionable decisions, but billy believes he's capable of making better ones--and that's what matters, isn't it? )

Well. My record's not too great there. [ He says it casually. No remorse, but no real glee, either. IT IS WHAT IT IS. Chase shrugs, shooting a teasing smile at Billy. ] But hey, could be worse! I never tried to take over the world or anything.

I think you have the potential to be something great.

( it's not a lie. caleb believed in chase, didn't he. and chase hadn't--been particularly destructive when he was here before. )

He lets Loki inside the Sanctum, and Loki has done a few things that are inadvisable.
