audio & action @L.Mills forward dated to April 8th
[The audio turns on to the sound of silence for the first few seconds before Lucy asks her question.]
If you could have one wish, what would you wish for? Not like...money or anything. Not for powers, but what would you really wish for?
[Because it's her birthday, and she wasn't really in the mood to celebrate. Of course, she'll wish for her family to be okay, for them to remember and come here so they could meet Victor. But...would that be a waste of a wish? Sure, wishes were powerful, but she was in another world, and she didn't think they would be strong enough to pull her family from one realm to the next...
Or, maybe she's just over thinking things. Maybe she just wants to talk and not think about her birthday.]
[ooc: Lucy's birthday is on April 8th, so here's her birthday post! She won't say it's her birthday, not yet anyway. Either way, this post can double as action too. So have fun!]

[He's not going to keep pushing it, but he's curious why she seems so reluctant to voice her own wish after asking everyone else their's.]
Yeah? I've never had a wish come true, but I guess that's a given since that doesn't work where I'm from... What did your grandmother wish for?
[There's a brief pause, before he answers her last question. It wasn't the easiest thing to answer, that was for sure.]
Well, for most of my life it was pretty boring. Then one day the gods came back and now apparently there's a huge war going on that we have to keep hidden from people... While still convincing them to believe in these gods in the first place. So that they can be powerful enough to win the war.
Most people don't know the gods exist though, so what my world is like probably depends on who you ask.

Yeah..it's.. [A pause as Lucy takes in a deep breath.] I'd want the curse to be broken and for my family to be here. It's too great of a wish to come true.
[There's a faint smile on her face when he asks that question.] To not be alone, and right after blowing out the candle on her cupcake, there was a knock on the door. A little boy, my dad, was there, asking if he had the right house and said he was her son. It's a long story.
[Whoa, whoa back up.]
Gods? You mean like the Greek gods? Or Roman? Or Norse?

[It did make him think though, if he could wish his mother here she'd be alive again, and that was something else to consider. With the technology this place had, maybe they could save her. At the story he can't help but smile some, himself. It was a strange thing for that to come together the way it did, but he would have dismissed it as coincidence.]
Oh, uh. Greek, yeah. I'm- from Athens, I'm technically a priest of Athena I guess. It's a complicated story. Not really sure what being a priest even entails anymore, since- well, the gods disappeared 400 years ago. So, it's- yeah. Complicated. I figured most people around here wouldn't know who they were since everyone's from all sorts of different worlds, though.

[They could live a happy life, and while it may be their realm, it could still be a home. They could make something new here. They could all be together and no one would have to leave. Something that wasn't complicated and simple...and they could live happily ever after.]
Some worlds have a common thread or two about them. It all depends upon which world you go to and then hop to from there. But Greek Gods, huh? [Oh, she knows a few demi gods, and one Norse God...this is very interesting to her.]
It can't be as complicated as my family tree, so if you want to talk about it, I'm all ears. If not, then we don't have to.
no subject
Yeah, you're right. There have been a few common things here and there... It's just- I guess the gods were locked away in a Labyrinth something like 400 years ago, they just recently got out again. So, after my whole life of thinking the gods were just myths and legends, that my family was crazy for sticking with this whole priest business, they come back and prove it's not as crazy as it sounds.
Nevermind that being priests is the whole reason Ivy and I can't be together.
[Not important though-]
So, what's all this about a curse? Sounds like you definitely know a thing or two about complicated.
no subject
What could be powerful enough to lock the Gods away? A lack of belief? Or like...a super deity? [Lucy was just thinking out loud here, trying to make sense of it.]
Well...can you back out of being a Priest? Or be a Priest sometimes?
[Hey, hey, she wants to talk about your mess, not hers--but for the sake of being fair:]
The curse took everyone from the Enchanted realm and into a land without magic. Their true selves are shown as fairytale characters, and they don't remember who they are.
no subject
I don't... know. I kind of already agreed to it, but in order to stop some of us from being able to help we were locked away in some weird underground city. I was trying to figure out how to get out of there when I wound here, instead.
[He sounds more thoughtful than concerned though, as if being here wasn't so bad.]
As for what locked them away... I think it was the Titans, as revenge for defeating them. They were kept in a Labyrinth until people gave up hope, lost faith... stopped believing.
[You know, for something he was adamant about not caring about, speaking about it this way sure made him depressed. Anyway, deflecting the conversation to be about other people is what Orion's really good at, so Lucy might have met her match here.]
Enchanted realm... Sounds like something out of a fairy tale. Not that I have room to talk- I'm apparently living a myth. So, this curse, how does someone break it?
no subject
Oh, the Titans? She would've thought the Gods killed them, making sure they never could harm any of them every again.]
And without people believing in them...they disappeared. Is that right?
[If those Gods drew on the power of belief, and people forgot about them, that would cause them to die out... Jeez, she wouldn't want to be in that position.]
The only way to break the curse is with True Love's kiss. I was trying to get my parents to fall back in love...and that didn't work.
[Because the curse seemed to be stronger than anything she's ever faced and no matter what did, it didn't work.]
no subject
They were trapped in the Labyrinth by the Titans, that's why they disappeared. Having no one to believe in them after they vanished... They became powerless. With no gods taking care of the weather, the crops- it all just did whatever, I guess.
People stopped believing because gods weren't answering them, anymore. Can't really blame them, right? Now we're supposed to get people believing again so they can get their power back. They're basically ageless humans without it, I guess.
[It wasn't all that clear to him, even and he lived it. Orion isn't entirely sure he likes the idea of them having that kind of power again, but it's not really his place to say.]
The curse keeps them from being in love with each other?
[That was a nightmare he was familiar with.]
As long as you're here you can't do anything to help break the curse, either. That sucks...
no subject
[She can't imagine that was a pretty way to go.]
No, the curse doesn't stop people from falling in love, but it creates road blocks. Like, my mom used to believe in herself so much, but with how things were working out in Hyperion Heights, the land without magic where everyone was cursed to, she doesn't have much faith in herself.
Yeah....it sucks big time.
no subject
[He doesn't really know enough about the gods situation to elaborate further, so better to focus on something he might be able to make sense of... maybe.]
no subject
My mom remembers me, but my Dad, Henry, he doesn't think I'm his kid. He likes my mom...but he left Hyperion Heights...and I don't know why.
no subject
[Little close to home.]
Does your mom like him too? I would think that's the first step, right? To fixing things...
