[Tony doesn't often choose to use the video function preferring text for his network communication. But what he needed to say was better served this way. He wears make-up for the bags under his eyes and to hide the gauntness, but it doesn't completely hide the fact the long term effects of his illness. However he does his best to appear completely at ease and most people wouldn't notice a thing.]
I've noticed something regarding the recent disease outbreak. It's not of biological origin, it's caused by nanites. I believe it targets the central nervous system so that's how those of you who are theoretically immune to sickness might be feeling a little under the weather anyway.
I can't tell you how it spreads due to the method in collecting this data, nor can I pinpoint the source without devoting more resources than I currently have to it. I've also discovered they're self-replicating so it's only a matter of time before my own efforts to hold it at bay fail. This does suggest that there's a magical component to it as well.
[He holds up his glass of whiskey as if to toast.]
Old man, I've taken the liberty of uploading everything I've found so far to you and you'll continue to receive updates for as long as I'm able. The rest of you can bug him for details in the event I succumb to it-- you'll want fifty year old Tony Stark for those who don't know me. But lets hurry up, the clock's ticking.

You don't often find someone well-versed in both fields.

Finding everyone who's an expert in nanotechnology is a start.

[Alex has a lot of respect for science folks.]
I'll get on it and see what I can find out.

It's a limited field, but I haven't done a lot of work on it here.

That explains a lot. I noticed the nanotech, but the magic angle is new. And you know more about the tech than I do.

I'll be fine. If the brain tumour hasn't killed me yet, this sure won't.

I may be able to help on the magic-angle.

Welcome aboard. Your experience will be much appreciated. If you can tell us what you know about spontaneous matter creation and potential ways to disrupt that would be a great start.

Nanites are machines, yeah? Would an EMP work?
[He knows things!! Normally he wouldn't really give much of a shit but Lup is sick and that's....... bad]
Lemme know if you need another opinion on the magic shit, healing isn't my area but if it's something that can be dispelled I might be kinda useful

[He's shielded his nanites long ago and he doesn't need them to live, but anyone in the hospital is definitely at risk without a carefully prepared backup.]
I'm unfamiliar with magical terminology, how would dispelling work?
no subject
[Bold of you to assume he gives a shit about anyone but his family.]
If an item or whatever has a spell on it, someone who's more powerful can remove that magic, so like if there's a spell weaved into the nanites, I could maybe get rid of it

What would you rate the likelihood that you are more powerful than the caster?

[She's been tracking those who have publicly mentioned being sick and is trying to use a basic viral algorithm to help her track down the source.
The most obvious source to check is the water supply but more people would have been affected and over a less spotty area. It could be food but it'd have to be a specific type of food and Shuri isn't sure if she can narrow it down. Otherwise it could be an area that's continuing to affect people who pass through it.
She types on her tablet as she continues.]
I've been trying to pin point the source but I don't have enough data.

[Tony has been using his own nanites to combat the foreign invaders and which does take up a considerable amount of his attention.]
I can transfer my own nanite fleet through direct contact with my body fluids if you needed somewhere to start. This is likely programmed to work independently, but they might use the same idea. I don't think there's enough people affected for it to be through the water or food supply.
no subject
That's not true. [She begins thoughtfully as she quickly inputs some variables into her tablet.] Some of the people here might have antibodies to fight off the illness, magical or not. In my experience, magic is another form of energy. It reacts differently from the matter that we know but its still a physical force or substance. If we can break it down to its parts and understand it then we might be able to counter it.
[She's a very hopeful person.]
Do you have the data from your nanite's? That's all I would need.

I'm familiar with the damn things. Not familiar with magic.
Easiest way to wipe out nanotechnology before they can self-replicate is to overcharge them. Make them burn themselves out before they can replicate again.
no subject
[That's one of the things he's definitely sure about.]
The problem is anything large scale affects more than just that and anything localised opens them up to re-infection until we know exactly how it's being transmitted. Not to mention I'd rather avoid damaging my own nanites just because of this.
