I have a feeling I am not the only one, but I feel like death warmed over. Whatever this is is really annoying and pretty much nothing helps. I think I've hit the point of exhaustion where I just can't sleep anymore.

[In the background there's the sound of one of the lions, purring very close to the phone]

Okay, yes I see you. Some space please.

If I die from this, can someone put this on my grave - "he died as he lived - being attacked by robots".

[There's a very audible huff and the metallic sound of the lion stalking away]

Come on. I was joking. Ow...

[And that's when it cuts off.

He's not lion-sized. I think he's probably closer to a liger. He's almost able to put his head on my shoulder.

Are they from home?

[Shiro is happy with this; talking about Black gives him something to thinking about other than feeling crummy]

Yeah, they are from home. They're supposed to be ships that we pilot, but apparently coming through the portal, they shrunk and they are able to act more on their own.

Wow. You guys have lion ships? That's pretty awesome.

It must be an adjustment to have them as pets now.

We do. All five of them also combine together to form Voltron, which is more humanoid. Black is the head and body.

Not really pet... more friend.

[And Black is coming back over again. He forgives you, Shiro. Besides, he's being talked about]

And he's back. This is him.

[Shiro takes a picture with his phone and sends it to her]

Oh wow! It almost looks like he has wings on his back!

Yeah, he does. When they form Voltron, the wings turn into the shield.

Oh wow, that is so cool. Sorry, I know I keep saying it a lot, but robot lions turning into a bigger robot? Definitely amazing.

It is. I wouldn't have realized something like this was possible if I hadn't become one of their pilots.

We're still missing one arm and both legs so they can't transform here.

Is that because you're missing people from your team back home?

Yeah. It's just me and Keith. We still need at least three others. There are more though. I don't think this house will hold everyone though.

Well, there's always moving if the rest of them show up, right?

That is always possible. There's also the attic I could do stuff with. I mean, Hunk and Lance could probably share if they had to.

Hopefully they don't all show up tomorrow. I don't think I could help people move then.

People tend to show up in the beginning of the month, so you've got time even if they do, right?

[Alex is trying to be as distracting as she can because sick sucks.]

Yeah. I mean. I'd be really surprised if my whole team just suddenly showed up. Would certainly make life interesting.

Hey, then you could do your mini-Voltron thing, right? If everyone was here?

[Alex is just using the words back to him that he'd said before.]

Yeah if we had all five lions, in theory, they could build Voltron. They all have to be in sync in order to do that and since we aren't controlling them, it might be more difficult. Would be interesting if we could.

Oh huh. They couldn't do it by themselves?

[lionunchained]

Well, not back home. I would think they should be able to here, but whether they would try to or not is up to them. Because we can't tell them what to do.

I see. It's so cool that you get to see like a different side of them though. More than just tools, I guess?

Yeah. I knew they were already more than tools. I learned rather quickly that you can't tell Black what to do even back home. Trying to command the lion doesn't end well. So I don't tell him what to do here. It has to be his choice to do it.

Wow, they really do sound like cats! Which isn't belittling them in the slightest, but that behavior seems to be very cat-like!

Yeah I guess it is. I think it is because the lions want a bond with their paladin like we are in sync, not like someone is in charge over the other. They need us and we need them.

He's usually good though if I ask, he'll do it unless he sees some reason not and usually I'll know why the objection.

Wow, that is really cool and really impressive. I can't even imagine what that's like.

I like it. He's definitely my friend.

[And she'd probably hearing a purring robot lion now that Black was over by Shiro again]
