[Cable doesn't waste much time signing in to Riverview's network, opting for audio as a means to announce himself.]

New arrival to the Quarantine. Name's Cable. [He pauses for a moment. He's checking stuff out as he roams around, both in the scenery and the network itself. He's been in different periods of time and has been dumped randomly in places before. So excuse him if he sounds fairly casual about all of this.]

Guessing there's no known way out of this place, right? [At least they aren't restricted to just the city/town by the look of things. A little exploring might do him some good, then.]

[He doesn't sound too surprised by that part of it. Hope had taken to asking him about going back to the present more often as she got older.]

[Going into details about his other relatives' actions probably isn't the best idea. Instead, she motions for him to follow her through the wall, making sure to introduce him to some of the perimeter guards that are present.]

[Cable doesn't ask; if there was reason not to let her, Rogue would have given it. The mutant goes along with the introductions, looking to Rogue when she speaks again.]

Depends on who you're talking to. Some wouldn't say that.

[Rogue has a healthy wariness when it comes to messing with the timeline. It can easily come back to bite everyone in the ass.]

Well it's the reason the Phoenix Force doesn't destroy Earth, so ah take that as a win.

[Yes, well..same can't be said for Cable.]

Yeah, sounds like a win to me.

It's also sparked new mutants.

[So very big win.]

[Cable seems unsurprised by this.

He has the utmost confidence in Hope--when it's time to. Which, according to Rogue, isn't too far off a thing. The downside to this information is that means he'll eventually need to pull back and keep his presence away from her to make her life at least somewhat easier.]

Sounds like I gave her a fitting name.

Ah agree.

[She offers him a smile and a sideways glance before returning her attentions to the forest they're nearing.]

People will tell you it ain't safe out here and to be careful, but ah like to come out here to think and blow off a bit of steam against the creatures out here.

[Is that a challenge? Puh-lease.]

Want to stretch a bit?

[That was good to know. Cable had been wondering about a thing or two that had to do with this place. He'd keep this information in mind for sure.]

Haven't sparred with anyone in awhile, if that's what you're getting at. Should be a good test for you.

[Ah, he teases! A smirk of a smirk graces itself on his grizzled features.]

[Rogue raises an eyebrow at the notion, giving him a long, chiding look with a soft 'tsk' escaping her lips.]

No offense Nathan, but ah ain't lookin' to have your memories knockin' 'round in my head, among other things.

[Her lips quirked in a bit of an amused smirk.]

You run into Remy yet?

[In case the mutant is unaware they aren't alone from their universe. His mention of sparring earns a wider grin. She had been speaking of fighting monsters, but this was far more interesting.]

Ah suppose it's okay to beat up an old man if he's volunteerin'.

[Cable is indeed aware of Gambit's presence; he took the liberty of checking publicly logged posts in the community before announcing himself.]

Not yet. Gotta say my feelings are hurt.

[The mutant obviously doesn't care, and speaking of not caring! He shrugs and makes an amused sort of sound.]

Kinda curious. Last I heard all you knew how to do in a fight was punch and kick.

[Oh she's certain of it, but there are other reasons that she made that statement.]

No they ain't. [Because she knows him well enough to have picked that up.

His next statement receives a pleasant smile that speaks of her Southern roots.]

[Cable smirks and moves on his way.]

[He cocks one.]

Point the way to these monsters.

[She grins as she turns to listen to the forest, considering a direction before rising into the air into a causal hover.]

They had some trouble Northwest of here last week. Should be a good place to start.

[Cable starts to walk.]

Whatever pops up I'll lay down the cover fire for you. Speaking of, what kind of things live out here? Animals? Aliens?
