Hello, everyone.

I don't really know if anyone is celebrating Halloween next month, but if you are then please let me know. I'd especially be interested in helping out if anyone wants to work on a haunted house. I think it's great there's a holiday that celebrates things that are common in my world, and I want to be a part of it.

On a somewhat related note, I could use some help making something for my boyfriend. I'd like someone who can play an instrument, but if you're good at building things then that can work, too. Thanks.

A-ha! I knew it couldn't be completely science! And so you are, after all, a fellow necromancer.

If you want to call it that, sure.

Which suggests you would refer to it in some other manner. Which is?

I've been called a wizard. I think calling me an alchemist would work, too. It's also a practice that mixes magic with science.

And since I don't really raise the dead anymore, I think I'd rather be known as one of those than a necromancer.

"Wizard". Mage is the proper term in my world. And any who believe the raising of the dead is the sole use of Necromancy lack imagination. I can do many things without animating a corpse. I can...instill horror, make one flee in terror, slowly drain life force, quicken my own motion and those of others. It really is quite versatile.

Sounds like you'd fit into my world. We're known for terror and horror.

And for the record, I can do things without raising the dead, too. That's just the thing most people know me by. You look up the name Frankenstein in the library and you'll see what I mean.

Are you now? That's clever.

Quite the thorn, isn't it, when people choose to focus on one trait you possess? What else is it you do?

I honestly don't mind the image that much.

I'm a medical doctor, so I do things like general check-ups, pediatric care, surgery and whatever else may be needed. I'm accomplished in chemistry, too. Myself and another doctor were working on a potion when I arrived here.

Oh? And what was the purpose of this potion, if I may?

The other doctor created it to separate himself from his darker nature. We were just perfecting it since that darker nature took on a life of its own and was causing problems in town.

...that's a rather drastic side-effect...or...perhaps it would be more accurate to say "too potent a success"?

[jolting]

Actually, he wanted his darker side to be a separate entity. The problem is they shared the same life force, so you couldn't kill one without the other dying as well.

Our potion was meant to separate their life forces.

That's fascinating! Was it successful?
