[ The feed opens up to Loki, dressed in a white shirt and black tie and slacks. He seems to be in a facility somewhere in Riverview, one that might not be familiar to most. He taps a pencil on a clipboard, his bid to look professional. Even his hair is combed back, a few strands tied together with a silver clasp. ]

Greetings. I work at the Gramarye Research Facility for Magic and I was hoping to get some examples of magic taken place in Riverview. Any will do, even ones where your own magic has clashed with the rules of this reality. If you could make it short and precise, I would be most . . . grateful.

He wrote this down somewhere recently, didn't he? Keeping the exact number is not one of his prioritized pieces of information. ]

[ An immortal. With some rudimentary magic tied to his being, but Loki can't picture Jacob doing any casting. ]

[ Casting magic is for the dead, ewwww. ]

[ Abel doesn't count when he only made it to 24 before dying. Being an immortal spirit now doesn't change that. ]

Born like this, apparently. It didn't stick until something happened, but it was always going to happen.

No, but for real, first of all that sounds like some insidious magic-related question that I'm going to regret later. Second of all, do you want my name or my birth name?

[ Cain is definitely taking this in good stride. Whether Loki is actually giving him the truth on his side or not, he's interested to see what the god of mischief might find most alluring about a guy like him. ]

[ Hm. A fair question. While names have power and certainly he has worked that magic before, it can rebound in a place like Riverview. He purses his lips. ]

I want the name men would associate with you if they knew your past, your true nature. The name that is whispered in the dark.

What's important to man isn't necessarily the same as what's important to me. However... that name would be Romulus.

[ He'll always be the brother-killer in his own eyes, but the rest of the world — well, that's part and parcel with the story of Rome. They got some things terribly wrong along the way, though. ]
