[ Those viewing the network will be greeted with the sight of a young man with red hair and green eyes wearing a tight-lipped smile on his face. He's really trying to keep it together. He's been taken away from his family and friends again. ]
I'm starting to think I'm the punchline to the worst joke in the universe. Though I have to admit this place is a step up from where I spent my last involuntary vacation.
[ Of course his last vacation consisted of him being stuck in the Speed Force for years with only his own thoughts to keep him company. ]
Since it appears I'm not going anywhere for the foreseeable future, I figured I should introduce myself. My name is Wally. [ Have a wave, people. ] I'm from Earth. Well, an Earth. I would tell you people some more about me, but I'm a pretty boring guy these days.
[ That's not exactly true. But, the purpose behind him addressing the network is to gather any information he can rather than revealing it. ]
So, what's the deal here? I know what the welcoming committee had to say, but you know how they have a habit of making things sound more grandeur than things are. [ Rather, he isn't sure just how truthful they were being. ] There was a lot of weird stuff going on back home and I just want to make sure this isn't connected somehow.
[ He sighs, running a hand through his hair. What is his life. ]
Whatever information I could get would be appreciated. [ He flashes a much more genuine smile. ] Heck, I'd settle for just knowing where the best place to get a drink is.

[ action ]
There's some immediate and notable differences between this Clark and the one he knows -- this one appearing to be at least a few years younger for starters -- but that was to be expected given the big guy didn't seem to know exactly who Wally was.
Still, Wally has always had the utmost respect for Clark and he doesn't see any reason why he would treat this one any differently. The guy did offer to pay for their lunch, after all.
With a complete lack of grace, Wally quickly hurries over to the booth and plops down across from the older man. ]
Hey. Sorry if I kept you waiting. It won't happen again.
[ action ]
It helps to have had a couple of months to adjust, but Clark thinks he'll always be surprised at how many people from all these futures consider him important. They've let him into their lives, and trust him with their secrets. He values it more than he can voice. ]
Don't worry about it. [ He flashes Wally a warm smile. ] Please, order first.
[ action ]
I'll just order the same as you. I'm not really a picky eater.
[ If Clark was going to foot the bill, then he could at least be reasonable with his order. Letting the Man of Steel decide what they got was the best route to that because Wally would want everything and it would turn into a long drawn out process while he made up his mind. ]
So, how long have you been here, exactly?
no subject
A few months. [ He pre-empts: ] Of all of us from similar worlds with the League, I'm the furthest behind.
no subject
I figured as much since you didn't know who I am. That's assuming I'll even exist in your world.
[ There was a time when he technically didn't even exist in his own. ]
Have you ever heard of the Flash?
no subject
I have. I haven't met him, but there's one someone close to me is familiar with. He has a different name from you. [ He won't volunteer Barry's name unless Wally mentions it first. ] There's more than one Flash?
no subject
Yeah, there's two Flashes now. I was the junior partner of the other Flash for years before we decided to share the title. It's kind of a legacy thing.
[ The story is a bit more complicated than that, but it's an accurate enough synopsis of things. ]
The first name of the other Flash you've heard of wouldn't happen to start with a B, would it?
no subject
It does. [ There's a Barry in Clark's own future, too. It's always complicated with #comics. ] Do you have the exact same ability?
no subject
Pretty much. [ There might be a few tricks Wally is better at than Barry and vice versa but it's all born from the same power set. ] We all get our powers from the same energy force. Speedsters, that is.
no subject
Are you faster than me?
no subject
I do believe I won the last race between us. [ He looks and sounds way too smug right now. ] Though there's really only one way to find out.
no subject
no subject
I'll be sure to do that.
[ Wally takes a few big bites of his food before: ]
I used to challenge Barry and you to races all the time when I was younger. [ Always wanting to test his own limits, wanting to see just how fast he could go. ] I hated when you guys would let me win. [ After he caught on, that is. ]
no subject
I'm not planning going easy on you now, so you know.
no subject
If you did, it wouldn't be much of a race. [ For all of his cheekiness, he knows victory isn't certain. ] They actually tend to be pretty close.
[ Wally suddenly gets a far away look in his eyes as he stares down at the table. ]
There is a limit to how fast us speedsters can go. [ The Speed Force makes sure of that. ] If we go too fast, we can get lost.
no subject
They'll look out for Wally. ]
Is that what happened to you before you came here?
no subject
Yes and no. I mean, I ended up getting lost, but it wasn't from running too fast this time.
[ Implying there have been other times. ]
Some nut job from the future tossed me into the time-stream because he thought I was stopping him from being famous. I somehow ended up trapped in the Speed Force for years before I found my way home a few months ago. [ And now he's dealing with being away from home once again. ]
no subject
no subject
Thanks. [ He blows out a breath. ] I can't say I'm looking forward to having to build my life up again, but it is what it is.
no subject
If we're friends in your reality, I don't see why we can't be in this one.
no subject
I'll take all the friends I can get and you're one of the best.
no subject
He'll get there. ]
Glad to hear it.
[ Their food arrives. Clark will start eating after Wally. ]
no subject
However, he wastes little time digging into his food. ]
Mm. This is good. [ He takes a sip of his drink after finishing off a few big bites. ] Do you still do the Super [ hero ] thing around here?
no subject
I do. A little less than home; there are a lot of other superheroes here from some other universes.
[ So Superman is something Clark can adjust to, instead of being in the deep end. ]
