I noticed other new arrivals asking after their friends. While I could do that, my friends are generally difficult to miss. The Krogan ones especially.

The welcoming party and I had a bit of a go and that landed me nowhere. Sooo I figure maybe someone can help a poor guy out and show him where he can crash? Maybe even find something to eat that won't kill him?

That last one might be a little much to ask for.

There is that, but I meant that we're a pretty loud group of mixed company.

[And mostly human. But things tend to happen around Shepard and the rest of the crew can be just as rowdy.]

Krogan are huge, reptilian bipeds. Typically seven feet tall - maybe more if you calculate their humps into the equation - and heavy. They aren't exactly easy to take down either, what with all of the redundant organs they have and their race in general are built like tanks. If you see one charging you, you either get out of the way or hope you have enough armor piercing rounds to take it down before it reaches you.

I wouldn't call it "special," just in the minority. At most, the types of food that humans and other levo species eat would just pass through the body unnoticed. At worst, there would be a severe allergic reaction that could be fatal.

How do they accommodate "special diets," exactly?

Krogan? Dangerous? No. [The sarcasm is pretty thick, but it's more amused than hostile.] Honestly, everyone has the potential to be dangerous. That's not exclusive to one race only.

[Just saying.]

Floor six is what I was told. Now where this housing unit is, I have no idea.

[Oh by no means is Garrus ready to trust anything yet, but sleep does sound pretty good right about now.]

There probably is, but finding it is the issue.

[ A moment's pause. She's frowning over here. ]

It's not strictly in my job purview, [ she says finally, ] but I'll look into it if you'd like. [ If it's literally that he can't eat anything available here, that's not right. Anderson can't quite resist her urge to help people. ]

I'd be happy to help if I can. You should have a place available in the housing unit if you'd like it. And- What can you eat?

[If that just doesn't make him flustered...]

...You really don't need to go that far. I can ask around or even scope places out.

I got hired at the local police. It's my job to look out for everyone who gets pulled here.

[ And clearly she takes this very seriously. It's a good question even if not specifically for him-- she wants to know who to refer people to if this comes up in the future, some necessary living accommodation. ]

[Might as well reply in kind, right?]

Thanks, but as far as housing goes, I think we have that issue resolved.

[It's going to be the blind leading the blind on that, but it's not like Garrus will realize this until later.]

As for what I can eat? I can eat anything as long as it's dextro and not levo. I'm starting to think that it might be my universe that is the odd one out on that.

[When put like that... Garrus was a cop. Once.]

How about we make it a team effort instead?

[ On her end of the connection, she quirks a smile. ]

Sure. I'm Anderson. Got here not long before you.

Anderson? There's a man that goes by that name back home. Good guy.

[It's a little hard not to respect Anderson. He's a man that likes to get things done.]

[ This Anderson isn't exactly known for her patience with the system, either. ]

Nice to meet you, Vakarian. What's our timetable? [ Now she's teasing, if only very slightly. Blink and you miss it. ]

I was thinking more gluten-free or other human diets. But they still likely can accommodate you with things from the grocery stores.

[That makes Yuuri pause, and then pipe up again with some concern.]

Um, wait, you said the...biospheres aren't compatible. Does that mean you'll have trouble while you're here?

I don't know. Those are some pretty big... [He pauses, looking for the right word. Ugh, human idioms] shoes [Nailed it] to fill.

[If this Anderson wants to tease, Garrus can do so right back.]

Likewise. Hopefully this won't take but a day or two. I mean how hard can it be to find?

I won't have a severe allergic reaction, if that's what you mean. Most of the Normandy crew are human and I've never had a problem.

See, now if you could just point me towards one of these stores, that could solve the matter pretty quickly.

Any group of mixed company can get loud, if the right circumstances are available.

Maybe you should be happy for the quiet, unless you revel in that sort of thing.

Sounds like a pain to deal with. Both as an ally or a foe.
Haven't seen anything like that here. Nothing that isn't a snarling, mindless monster on the other side of the wall.

Hopefully not very. Maybe we should start with the obvious. I need to go grocery shopping, anyway.

I think I know about four human idioms and I've already used two. Can't use up all my material on first meetings, right?

Personally, I like both. There's always a time and place for everything.

Turian. And I'd appreciate it. It'd be embarrassing to get lost twice in one day.
