I was led to assume friendship is a benefit. Certainly people harp on it all the time.

Yeah, they're not wrong. Friends with benefits (FWB) is when you've got a friend you also have sex with but don't romantically pursue.

Yes and no. Boyfriend and boy friend might be confusing but at least we identify and when we make notable relationships.

That's what makes it more important. Knowing what you feel for someone means you can make the most of the time you have.
