suckstobestrange: (yes it just goes to show god)

001 // @strange.magic: video

Consider this a little public service announcement, and my good deed for the day.

[At first it’s just Stephen Strange, looking even more like a magic hobo than he usually does, before he moves the feed to focus on a mini-fridge sitting in the corner of the communal kitchens and wouldn’t be anything to comment on if not for the heavy chains wrapped around it keeping the door shut, or the padlock that really looked like overkill.]

If you see this fridge here, missing its padlock or even worse open and I’m not already there dealing with it? I recommend either finding me, or a flamethrower immediately.

[The mini-fridge, which had been sitting quietly until this point started to shake, the sound of something inside smacking against the door making the chains around it rattle. Stephen came into view just long enough to smack the top of the fridge with the handle of a broom which seemed to startle whatever was inside into silence again.]

It should be in the floor 5 kitchen so if it’s not, even if it’s still locked, you’re going to want to come get me and I’ll deal with it.

And if you value your continued good health don’t eat anything that comes out of this thing.

Don't you think there might be someplace better to keep... whatever that thing is than in a communal kitchen?

Just wondering.

[ That's code for: what the hell were you thinking, man. ]

Okay, but how long do you think it's gonna be before someone goes to get themselves a midnight snack and that thing decides to rattle around and gives them a heart attack? Or they could cut themselves or set something on fire or about a dozen other things.

All I'm saying is, in a city this big, shouldn't there be some other kind of storage facility with, uh, the appropriate stove facilities?

Yeah, but doesn't that also mean you're inconveniencing everyone else who uses that kitchen by deciding you want to keep it close to you, instead of moving it somewhere else and finding a way to keep yourself close to it?

I'm just saying, if whatever is in there is dangerous, that means you're putting quite a few people at risk just because you didn't want to consider a more sustainable solution to your... demon-vault fridge problem?

[ Curtis really wants to give the benefit of the doubt but this is all sounding like a whole lotta not his problem. ]

And I've gotta say, in my experience it's the people who seem like they wouldn't get spooked by rattling who then occasionally get way too spooked, and then a small problem becomes a really big problem.

[ Not being able to afford someone else may be a legit reason, but Curtis still isn't happy about the situation. ]

Do I even wanna know what "using it" means? Or what "it" or "they" are in the first place?

Yikes.

[ Thanks to this conversation, this place has officially gone from 'weird' to 'very weird' in Curtis' mind. He doesn't have a lot of experience with magic, so he's willing to set his usual curiosity aside for the time being and accept that this is just something he shouldn't mess with. ]

Well if I see that thing open or any kind of Lovecraftian critters wandering the floor, I'll definitely text you.
