Consider this a little public service announcement, and my good deed for the day.
[At first it’s just Stephen Strange, looking even more like a magic hobo than he usually does, before he moves the feed to focus on a mini-fridge sitting in the corner of the communal kitchens and wouldn’t be anything to comment on if not for the heavy chains wrapped around it keeping the door shut, or the padlock that really looked like overkill.]
If you see this fridge here, missing its padlock or even worse open and I’m not already there dealing with it? I recommend either finding me, or a flamethrower immediately.
[The mini-fridge, which had been sitting quietly until this point started to shake, the sound of something inside smacking against the door making the chains around it rattle. Stephen came into view just long enough to smack the top of the fridge with the handle of a broom which seemed to startle whatever was inside into silence again.]
It should be in the floor 5 kitchen so if it’s not, even if it’s still locked, you’re going to want to come get me and I’ll deal with it.
And if you value your continued good health don’t eat anything that comes out of this thing.

[He can believe it!]
Well then here is hoping Jace has a long and healthy life. Most of my magic comes from study. Not the same as innate powers, but each comes with it's own difficulties I'm sure.

So what's in there that's so dangerous I should set it on fire if I see the box open?

The creatures I eat are generally hostile. They also will eat each other and thus grow larger, and when they do they tend to gain other offensive capabilities that they don't have in their current state. Spitting acid, the ability to self-reproduce, and a myriad of other unpleasant options. Once large enough, they can and will eat people.
So better to torch any left in the fridge if it's somehow opened.

So... you eat monsters to keep your powers sharp? Or just because subduing them requires a lot of trickiness to even get to eat?
*That seems like a lot of work, but she's been given free reign to torch things, she isn't going to question that part.*

Sadly no. It's a side-effect of so much mystical energy on a human body, apparently. I'm guessing it's because of the sheer variety of different schools I dip into; I've other mystic companions without this trouble.
Or it could be that I'm simply that lucky.

I get by eating mostly fruits and stuff. They grow really well in volcanic soil where I usually call home.

But pizza is ruined for me forever. They don't put that in the handbook that's for damn sure.
There isn't even a handbook.

I have no idea what pizza even is.
And handbooks suck, I usually burn them.
