I've talked about this with a few of you, but I wanted to make a public announcement just in case someone I haven't spoken to yet was interested in going.

I'm going to take a team with me out to the abandoned city to scavenge for a spaceship. If I've talked with you about it before, you're still invited. If I haven't talked to you yet, now's your chance. I'll message everyone soon with a date and time.

Definitely. That's one of my favorite parts of being on Perimeter Guard. The exploring.

I thought so! I happen to think I'm pretty good at it, too. What about you? You said you were a doctor back home, did they place you in the hospital?

They did - it's a bit of an adjustment from being on the ship, but it's been... good.

[followhim]

That's good, that you're adjusting well. But it's still not the same, is it? Nothing compares to being out in space, at least to me. As well as things are going for me on the guard, I still think about it all the time.

No - I've been on the move so long, I don't know how to stay in one place very well.

[followhim]

Me either. I had a home planet, where I'd stay and leave my personal ship if I had to, but I spent so little time actually there ... I bet this is the longest my feet have stayed firmly planted on the ground, maybe ever.

[dancingmd]

I had a brief stint in administration on Earth and well... I'm sure you can imagine how that went.

I'll bet you were bored out of your mind.

[dancingmd]

[Her answer comes as a groan.]

So much paperwork!

Ugh, paperwork! [he laughs.] It's the worst. I'd do anything to get out of it back home.

I'll always be stuck with some - just part of the job. But I missed being hands on with patients as well.

Hey, if I ever get injured around here, you can definitely get hands on with me.
