Why not ask Thor? Surely he's the more trustworthy. I imagine he enjoys the story every now and then.

It's not much of a story. After Thor's lackluster attempt at genocide, I was king and it went to my head. He stopped me. I tried my hand at Earth and I was stopped there as well. After that, I lost my desire for it.

[ It's a tale full of half-truths as any tale Loki would spin. Truth is just as much of a weapon of Loki's as a lie. As for his foreign heritage and other tiny nuggets of information, those remain behind closed walls. Even now, Loki does not speak of what he is. He can barely get the words out. ]
