[The video opens on a rather ecstatic looking face, the Devil seemingly pleased beyond all measure as he stands in what appears to be an abandoned club.]

Hello, hello, you lovely duckies, you. Lucifer, here, and I'm thrilled to be able to share the news that through whatever means that I'm not currently questioning, my bar's wound up being sucked through that lovely portal. Or something. Not too sure on the specifics, but again, not questioning. To anyone who noticed a rather tall building appear, that'd be mine. Well, it is now. Papers signed and everything. Ladies and gentlemen... and others, welcome to Lux.

[There was a moment where he paused and turned the camera around, showing the interior of Quarantine's newest posh bar, then the screen was back on him and his too-pleased smile.]

While I'd love to open it as is, since everything including top shelf alcohol seems to have come through with it, I'm a bit short on staff. And by short I mean completely bereft. So, if anyone's interested in bartending, dancing, or finding another occupation that may be needed here, do please contact me. My new quarters will be in the Penthouse -- which reminds me, there's scads of floors here that are free, so I'm leasing space as well to anyone who's of a need. I'm sure there's a deal to be made for anyone interested.

[Lucifer watched the sparks, then the now-appearing man, brows raised as the little circle of gold closed after he'd stepped through as if it never was. He found himself smiling at the businesslike attitude of his potential client, coming over to see him with one hand outstretched.]

Not at all. That was an interesting bit of whatever that was. Saves on line-ups, mm?

[He didn't seem the slightest bit bothered by it, more amused than anything as he gestured for Stephan to join him up where the elevator was.]

Now, what were you looking for again? A few rooms of your own? I can attest the place has marvelous soundproofing, so any noise from the club itself won't be an issue, but if you're concerned about it, we can go for one of the higher floors.

[ He takes the hand offered to him and finds himself smiling in return. ]

And then some.

[ It was actually pretty refreshing to have that kind of reaction. While he wanted to get back home, he was enjoying the freedom he had to be open with his powers. The bonus being there were plenty of other people here that had powers of their own.

He follows easily, arms crossing as he listens. Giving a nod, ]

Glad to hear that. That was going to be one of my first questions, actually. In that case, we can start with the next available floor?

We certainly can. This way.

[Lucifer was far more likely to be incredibly intrigued by any new show of powers than offended or, hah, afraid. Fear wasn't something he was particularly familiar with, and when you'd lived as long as he had, anything new was worth paying attention to. That was what made winding up here so interesting for him. All these new people, new worlds, new deities and realities. What wasn't to like?

He pressed the call button, gesturing for Stephen to precede him when the doors dinged open.]

The layout for the upper floors shouldn't be too dissimilar from here, other than perhaps more walls and less ceiling height than an open concept bar. If you'd like, I've no issue with allowing you access to the whole floor as your own. I know how some people like their space.

[ There were a few things he didn't like. Most of them bore the name "Loki". And then there was the whole duplicate... thing going on. It was all way more complicated than he liked with regards to social interactions but this wasn't the time or place to focus on that.

Multiverse Problems aside, he actually liked what saw after walking out onto the new floor. Arms still crossed as he walked around, taking it all in. He looks back over to Lucifer, ]

The whole floor? That's more than I could afford in New York.

Well, it does come unfurnished. Seems only the bar and my suite came as I remember them. But this isn't New York, is it? And I can't see why I should have to gouge someone for something I don't need. Money's for humans. I just enjoy what it brings, and as I have everything I could want here, anything else is unnecessary.

[He gestured to the further room, walking through it to show him the wide windows that took up one wall.]

Seems to come with a lovely view. Can't argue with that.

[ Stephen turns to watch him walk before joining him. He looks out of said windows and slowly nods. ]

I can't. It's a beautiful place.

But I am surprised by the generous outlook.

[ Not exactly what he expected from the Devil. ]

Why? Thought I'd want your soul as a down payment?

[He chuckled, then gave a casual one-shouldered shrug.]

I gave that up before I even came to LA. I just want to enjoy what life has to offer. This is a pleasant surprise on my end and I don't see why I can't spread a little of that around while I have it.

[He smiled as he looked fully at Stephen.]

You're welcome to this floor, or any of the others if you'd prefer a higher location. Do what you like with it, just make sure any renovations don't muck with the structural integrity. If you've a fair notion for rental rates, I'm happy to hear them. If you'd rather work something else out, I'm equally happy to hear that.

[ Stephen shrugs, ]

Or a pound of flesh. No one's ever agreed on the going rates for dealing with the Devil.

[ But he means it. It's genuinely surprising to him. But not in a bad way. Just... so different from what he's always heard. Just another "forget what you think you know" moments, apparently.

He looks back out the windows before backing away from it and gesturing to the elevator, ]

Can we go up a little more?

Of course.

[He led them back over to the elevator, hand waving at the numbers waiting to be pressed.]

Pick a floor. As I said, I believe they're similar, but some might be arranged differently in terms of floor plans. Or separated. I think there used to be a few offices along the way. But, whichever one tickles your fancy, I'm happy to work out a deal for.

[ Stephen debates it for a moment before pressing for the floor another two stories up. He gives another nod. ]

I just want to make sure it's what I want before I make any kind of deal. Plus, I have a roommate of sorts to satisfy.

Oh? Well, it'll be your floor. You can do as you please with it, including having as many others as you like over. Just do try not to make any messes that bleed into the areas others have to use. I'm all for having a good time, but if you're flooding your floor and it leaks down to the bar, I'll be slightly put out.

[ That manages to get a small laugh from Stephen, ]

Only "slightly"?

It's hardly the end of the world, is it? A little leak. A little inconvenience. With a few twists, it can be made into a wet and wild evening. But really, there's much bigger things to be bothered about than property damage.

[Stephen might eventually find out that the Devil wasn't nearly as materialistic as he might seem. Oh, he liked things. Liked to have them. Liked to play with them. But if they were broken or lost or used up, it was just the nature of the thing, wasn't it? No need to be upset.]

[ There was a time when Stephen was quite materialistic. There are still some tendencies toward it but for the most part, he's learned to appreciate more important things. As well as the simple things. He meant it when he said he doesn't need anything fancy. Just having some space and quiet is after a day of work was enough for him.

But he can certainly appreciate Lucifer's attitude towards it all. He could even feel himself starting to like his possible landlord. (And it honestly wouldn't be the weirdest thing to have happened to him. ]

You don't have to worry about me. I got a way to practice my spells so they won't damage the material world.

Is that what that was? Wonderful. Perhaps one evening, if you take the place -- or even if not, we can have a chat about magic. It exists in my world, but certainly differently than what I saw you manage. Color me curious about the differences.

[He smiled and the doors opened to the floor Stephen had chosen, the light a little brighter here as the different arrangement had the elevator opening up into a wider room with the windows visible from where they stood.]

I believe this may have been one of the offices.

[ There's a half-smile at that, ]

I don't doubt it. I'm still a bit new to it, truth be told. I used to not believe in it let alone know it existed.

[ Same with for the soul or spirit. He thought they were all meaningless constructs people had deluded themselves into believing so they could avoid the truth of life. Good thing life decided to kick him in the balls when it did tbh. ]

But I'd like to have that chat.

[ He takes a step out to get a better look. The view is even better than before. He points to the walls the hallway between them. ]

Does that mean there are multiple rooms?

[Lucifer chuckled. How could he not?]

I'm well aware of things not to believed that exist.

[Hello? Devil? But he was deciding during their little interlude that so far, he rather liked this version of this man. Birds of a feather, so to speak. Pride spoke to Pride, after all.]

Oh, likely. But as I said, you're free to change it how you like. Multiple rooms. Even section it up into separate suites. What you do with it is up to you and your imagination. I suppose you've a rather vivid one, mm?

[ Stephen finds himself smiling more at that, giving a nod as he looks back down the hallway. ]

I like to think I've gotten better with it, yeah.

[ He walks down it and checks a few of the rooms before walking back out into the main one. He tugs his bag around to his front. ]

I like it but I need a second opinion.

[ He opens the bag and his cloak shoots out from it, unfurling itself in the air above them. It shakes itself out and then starts flying around the room and down the hallway. Stephen watches it before turning back to Lucifer, shrugging a shoulder, ]

I guess it kinda counts as a roommate?

... What in the everloving blazes is that?

[He watched the red thing fly up by itself, flap itself straight, then fly off to go check out the rest of the floor they were on.]

Is it an alien? Some science experiment? Ooh, is it a magic carpet?

[ He grins at that reaction, pleased he was able to surprise the devil. ]

A distant cousin of the magic carpet, you could say. My Cloak of Levitation. A mystical relic that allows me to fly pretty much. But it's sentient in its own way.

Really? Does it like to be pet?

[Lucifer was fascinated, and it clearly showed in how he was almost clapping, looking down after where the cloak had disappeared.]

That's a little monster I could get used to having around. No shedding. No piddling on carpets. No leg humping that's not of my doing. Brilliant.

[ Stephen almost rolls his eyes, ]

It's not a pet, okay? It's an ancient mystical relic imbued with--

[ And then the cloak is back and tackling him as it wraps around his upper body and head in its own version of a hug. He muffles a bit, sputtering, before telling it to get off. ]

Alright, great. You like it, fabulous. I need to breathe.

[ It finally lets go, the ends reaching up to pet Stephen's cheeks as if to say it was sorry. He steps away, waving it off. ]

I'm fine!

[ Looking back to Lucifer, ]

We'll take it.

[He wasn't trying very hard not to laugh, so a little snicker came out as the cloak made its thoughts known.]

Right. Well. I'm in the market for a lawyer, so as soon as I get one, we can have a lease drawn up and everything will be lovely, yes?

[ He nods, hands going to his hips. ]

Alright. So we have to hold off moving in till then?

[ He at least manages to keep the disappointment out of his voice. ]

Not at all. You've picked it and I'm comfortable assigning it to you. The contract shouldn't take long to write up when I find the right lawyer for it. No need to wait until then if you're fine with it.
