[The video opens on a rather ecstatic looking face, the Devil seemingly pleased beyond all measure as he stands in what appears to be an abandoned club.]

Hello, hello, you lovely duckies, you. Lucifer, here, and I'm thrilled to be able to share the news that through whatever means that I'm not currently questioning, my bar's wound up being sucked through that lovely portal. Or something. Not too sure on the specifics, but again, not questioning. To anyone who noticed a rather tall building appear, that'd be mine. Well, it is now. Papers signed and everything. Ladies and gentlemen... and others, welcome to Lux.

[There was a moment where he paused and turned the camera around, showing the interior of Quarantine's newest posh bar, then the screen was back on him and his too-pleased smile.]

While I'd love to open it as is, since everything including top shelf alcohol seems to have come through with it, I'm a bit short on staff. And by short I mean completely bereft. So, if anyone's interested in bartending, dancing, or finding another occupation that may be needed here, do please contact me. My new quarters will be in the Penthouse -- which reminds me, there's scads of floors here that are free, so I'm leasing space as well to anyone who's of a need. I'm sure there's a deal to be made for anyone interested.

[Oh, he didn't have to tell her that. She's been in his bed before. Nudity and Albanian field wenches came to mind, but she's not going to bring that up. Ever. Instead, she leans forward a bit, watching intently at the way his hands glided over the keys and one song transitioned into the next.]

I'll keep that in mind. As much as I like my roommates, having some space to decompress would be nice.

[And 'that space' includes him, apparently, and the familiarity of Lux itself. Glancing up at the stairs she knows leads to the elevator, she picks up her glass of champagne and starts to slide off his lap.] Come on. Want to go upstairs before someone walks in and gets an eyeful?

I don't mind being eyed, but if you're asking if I'd like to lay you out on the piano upstairs, the answer to that is an emphatic 'yes'.

[His playing trailed off as she moved to get off him, a sigh leaving him, but he reached for his own glass and the bottle of champagne, joining her in getting up and moving towards the elevator.]

Go on, then. Tell me you missed it.

Anyone ever tell you that subtlety isn't your strong suit?

[She's unbothered as she takes the stairs and presses the up button to the elevator, perhaps feeling far more at home than she would've ever thought.]

You know, I did. But I would've missed the owner more if he'd been gone this whole time.

Why be subtle? You're less likely to get what you want if you beat around the bush.

[He followed her up, still naked and not at all bothered by that. Her answer, however, had him smiling.]

I plan on staying as long as you are, love. We'll have to insist it's a package deal when they send us back, mm? I just hope we manage to return to the same place together. I'm not particularly looking forward to winding up where I was when I left.

Trust me, if there's one thing I never have to wonder about with you, it's what you're thinking or wanting at any given moment.

[Soon enough, the elevator doors slide open and she enters, pressing the floor for his penthouse suite almost automatically. His next statement has her looking slightly pensive, however.]

I've still been thinking about that one person I spoke to. About how he and his friend agreed to go together and she disappeared one day. Something about it still seems off. Either way, I don't intend to go anywhere either if you're not with me. If I were to just be gone one day, even if the records said I went home... assume it wasn't on my own. [She slips her free hand into his.] Even if you did wind up back there, I'd find you.

[He looked down at their hands as she held his, smiling as he leaned back against the wall of the elevator.]

You're good, love, but I don't know if you're that good. I'm not even entirely sure where I'd gone. And that's even assuming we don't go back at the same moment we were taken from. All this might be moot. Timelines are tricky things to mess with.

You said you woke up in a desert, right? Assuming you hadn't been out long, that wouldn't give your kidnappers much chance to get very far. There is a desert in California. The Mojave.

[She's thought about this a lot too, obviously. But considering where they are now, and that it didn't seem like they were going home anytime soon, there's not much sleuthing she can do regarding his kidnapping. She sighs, hand tightening over his as she watches the elevator light alert them to each upward movement in floors.]

Either way, we'll figure it out.

I woke up with my wings, love. Which means I was likely taken by a sibling. Angels can fly far and I've no idea how long I was anywhere. Felt like a while. Could have been another world entirely. This, my dear, is the reality you have to embrace when you're dealing with the celestial.

[He feels the squeeze of her hand in his, giving her a light one back.]

I'm sure we will. Whoever it is can't keep me locked up forever.

You literally went to Hell just to find the antidote for me when I'd been poisoned. Reality isn't exactly bound by the same rules anymore.

[With that, the doors slide open and she takes a step into his penthouse.]

Wow. It really does look the same.

Love, reality always had the same rules. You just didn't have the original copy to go by. I've always been able to go to Hell. Hardly my fault most of you don't actually believe in it.

[He lets her draw him further in, pausing behind her with his glass and the bottle in one hand, smiling as he looked over her head at his home.]

Everything's here. Well, not the sword, but everything else. Wall's even fixed from where I had to get it. It's all just... as it should be.

[Lucifer might like to think he wasn't materialistic or attached to mortal things, but he'd felt something warm settle in him when he'd taken the elevator up the first time he'd seen the building here. Home. This was his home. And it was that much better with her here with him.]

You're also supposed to be immortal and unable to go back to Hell without your wings, but we both know how that went. Whatever loophole or trick there is, I'd find it if I had to. Especially now that I know the truth. I wouldn't just leave you somewhere without doing anything.

But this is all hypotheticals anyhow, so let's not dwell on it too much for now.

[He's got his club back and they were both safe. That's all that mattered. She lets go of his hand then and takes care now to walk through his suite, fingers drifting over the spines of some of his books on the shelves as if examining it for any fault lines. Or maybe she's just amazed it's actually here.]

Yeah. It's... incredible.

That's not entirely true. I can go back to Hell, I just can't leave without a token without my wings. I know the rules of Hell, love. Enough to know that when I die, if I die, that's where I'm going. But you, love, might not know the truth. We might go back exactly when and where we came from, none the wiser to what the other's doing.

Whatever the case, it just makes me want to enjoy what I have with you while I have it.

[He watches her walk away from him, watches her touch things much the same way he had, just to be sure it was real.]

Hot tub's even on the patio, and everything's as it should be. Anything you're in the mood to try?

You make it sound like the rug's going to be ripped out from under you any second...

[Muttered lowly, not really addressing him but bothered, somehow, by his assessment. She doesn't like the idea of forgetting this all happened or him stating he'd wind up in Hell if and when he died. Even though she knows that's already.

She leaves his books to go sit at his piano. Not even a speck of dust.]

Play for me again?

I'm happy. Truly happy. Of course it is.

[He sipped at his drink and moved over towards the piano, setting his glass on the top and bending to set the bottle on the floor by one of the legs. He looks over at her as she sits, smiling, still nude and completely comfortable in that.]

Would you sit on my lap again?

You can't know that for sure.

[He's so blasé about it. Like he's explaining such a simple concept, like the sky being blue. And it's that, rather than anything else like his wings or other face, that puts into stark focus how much he must've been through. To live so long and be separated from everything he's known that the idea of being happy is fleeting at best.

She slides over on the bench a bit, motioning for him to sit.]

You'd have to sit down first.

No, that'd be Dad's job. But I can take an educated guess.

[Billions of years, Chloe. That's what he had to gauge his current standing on. One didn't have a life like that and then just expect everything to be roses and sunshine because he wanted it to be. His experiences countered that logic.

But when she shifted, he moved to slide in alongside her, patting his lap as he bit his lower lip.]

I'll try to refrain from talking about the first thing that pops up.

Kind of fatalistic, coming from you. Ever consider that might be a self-fulfilling prophecy?

[She may not be able to prove or determine that his happiness will last -- after all, it's not like she can tell the future either -- but seeing him unable to accept the very idea that peace or happiness might just be here to stay hurts to think about.

Nevertheless, she tosses him an easy smile.]

Why? Might be what I'm thinking too.

No. Not like I didn't have hope things could change in the first thousand years or so. But... that wanes, love. Time can be a cruel bitch when she wants to be.

[Settling in, he reaches for her, tugging her closer.]

Cheeky minx. I'm pleased you're almost as insatiable as I am.

You left Hell so you could do what you wanted. Obviously you thought something could change. Otherwise you wouldn't've even tried. Not all bad things last forever, Lucifer. Even for you.

[She lets him tug her in closer, one hand splaying across his belly to keep herself grounded.]

Pretty sure that's impossible. Supposed miracle or not.

I am change, love. Things change, yes, but they're rarely for the better. Until you.

[His hand was up by her face, thumb tracing over her jaw as he looked into those all-seeing blue eyes.]

Mm, maybe. Maybe not. I like this side of you, though. I wasn't entirely sure it existed when we first met, but I'm glad to be proven wrong.

Well, then you should know I don't plan on going anywhere anytime soon.

[His gentle touch had her nuzzling into his hand despite herself. His comment sparks a questioning arch of her brow, though, something almost amused settling there. If he says sexual...]

Yeah? And what side's that?

I like the sound of that.

[His voice was low, soft, tender as she nuzzled in against his hand. His eyes couldn't leave her face and lost in his own thoughts like that, he slips back into that easy routine of just saying the first thing that came to mind without thinking it through.]

This primal, sexual side of you. Passionate, needy, playful. You're always so driven, particularly when seeking justice. It's a marvel to see that drive turned towards sex.

You do know I've got a daughter, right? That I've had sex before?

[It's a gentle ribbing, not meant to sting, but she can't help but throw it out there anyhow. She likes the way his hand feels on her face; the tender, low sound of his voice and that softened look to his eyes. She likes everything about him, even his peculiarities.]

I've just had other priorities, and it's not something I need to show to everyone. I'm private, not dead.

Oh, I'm well aware of your past activities.

[Daniel was an ever-present whisper in the back of his mind, always telling him he wasn't good enough for her. And then there was the child. Of course, he preferred to think of her acting career and that lovely piece of her that had opened up enough for her to be comfortable in that role. Until her life had changed. Always changing.]

I know, love. But you can hardly blame my surprise when you're so good at keeping it hidden. And it's a lovely surprise.

[If she knew he possessed that line of thinking, she would do her best to dissuade him of it. Especially the one of Dan. Just as his past partners don't affect his current relationship or feelings for her, the same could be said about this. Her and Dan were over; had been for awhile. Change affected that, too.

Her finger idly draws little whorls over his stomach, feeling the way his muscles moved there with each inhalation.]

Glad to hear billions of years of existence haven't snuffed out your ability to still be surprised. I could say the same thing for you.
