[The video opens on a rather ecstatic looking face, the Devil seemingly pleased beyond all measure as he stands in what appears to be an abandoned club.]

Hello, hello, you lovely duckies, you. Lucifer, here, and I'm thrilled to be able to share the news that through whatever means that I'm not currently questioning, my bar's wound up being sucked through that lovely portal. Or something. Not too sure on the specifics, but again, not questioning. To anyone who noticed a rather tall building appear, that'd be mine. Well, it is now. Papers signed and everything. Ladies and gentlemen... and others, welcome to Lux.

[There was a moment where he paused and turned the camera around, showing the interior of Quarantine's newest posh bar, then the screen was back on him and his too-pleased smile.]

While I'd love to open it as is, since everything including top shelf alcohol seems to have come through with it, I'm a bit short on staff. And by short I mean completely bereft. So, if anyone's interested in bartending, dancing, or finding another occupation that may be needed here, do please contact me. My new quarters will be in the Penthouse -- which reminds me, there's scads of floors here that are free, so I'm leasing space as well to anyone who's of a need. I'm sure there's a deal to be made for anyone interested.

[Kate's interested in seeing the place and getting a feel for it and it's owner. She doesn't consider that he's the same Lucifer from the bible.]

What time should I meet you?

[She will be surprised.]

Mm, not early. I plan on staying in bed late.

[He also planned on having company while he did.]

[Kate arrives ten minutes early. She's dressed conservatively, wearing a cute blouse accompanied by a black skirt that brushing against her knees. Given that this is a club-like bar, she doesn't think that jeans and a t-shirt are a good way to present herself.

The doors to the front are open and after a brief pause to see if anyone was around she stepped inside. It is a beautiful place, more elegant that she had expected.]

Hello?

[Lucifer was at the piano, playing a soft, barely-audible tune as he waited for what he hoped to be the first in a list of potential employees.]

Hello, my dear. Come in, come in. Have a seat. Drink?

[He was pushing up from the piano, waving at her to come in and gesturing over to one of the booths.]

[She hadn't heard him playing though she took note of the piano.] Maybe later but thank you.

[Kate takes a seat where he had gestured and gently placed her hands in her lap. For how she dresses, and the cross around her neck, she is oddly comfortable in this situation.]

What were you playing?

[He's used to it, really. Most people wore them. Some even just because it was given to them and it had sentimental value, not religious leanings. He brings over his own drink, sliding into the booth and smiling as he leaned back and gave her a perfunctory look-over. Pretty. Seemingly naive. Likely didn't let loose much. Ah, but the repressed ones were fun. He loved to watch them blossom, like lovely little sexual flowers that were spreading petals up to soak in all that attention.

Still, he did nothing but smile at her, sipping at his drink before setting it down and answering her.]

Just making sure it was still in tune. Pianos can be fickle things, and as it's moved from one reality to another, one has to ensure it handled the crossing well. So, you'd like to work here, mm? How comfortable are you with sex?

Oh, not that I'm saying you need to have it or that it's a requirement for working here at all. Just that it's likely to come up while you're here. I tend to have that effect on people and don't mind allowing them the chance to indulge.

[She looks at him with an incredulous stare.]

That's your first question?

[Lucifer is possibly going to find out more about Kate than he wants to know.]

I'm comfortable talking about sex if that's what you mean. I've never had sex. [Kate honestly doesn't think about sex and it's simply because she has no bases of comparison. The most she's done is fooled around back when she'd been in high school. Ever since facing the Culebra it isn't been on her mind. She's never seen porn either so she really only has a clinical understanding of how sex works.

She does think about kissing, wondering what it'd feel like. Lucifer's lips come to mind briefly before she forces the image away.

She exhales slowly between her teeth.] It's not something I'm planning to indulge in.

A virgin? Really?

[He narrowed his eyes as he looked at her, not in disgust, but suspicion.]

How old are you? Not that I'd normally ask, mind you, but rules and laws and yadda yadda. I am dating a police officer, after all. She might take issue to me hiring anyone underage to work in a club.

[Lucifer never really understood the mentality behind 'saving oneself'. Saving it for what? Fumbled older attempts by still inexperienced lovers that would likely make it all more painful and uncomfortable in some vague hopes that God wouldn't scold them for doing what they were meant to do? Really.]

Eighteen. I can't drink legally but I can serve.

[She knows the laws, even after spending a lot of time in Mexico where her age didn't seem to matter. Kate didn't feel that young but she knew that she was and she'd respect his decision if he didn't want to hire her.]

I don't want to get you in trouble. [More so with someone that he cares about.

Kate isn't 'saving' herself for anyone. She just hasn't met anyone she's wanted to have sex with, at least, that's what she is currently telling herself.]

Ah, but does that apply here? I haven't quite figured out what the rules of ages and laws are in this city. Tell you what; if it's all on board and they're willing to allow it, then you've got a job. If not...

[A slight shrug, as if to say he hoped she understood. Really, he hadn't looked too hard into any of the legalities here. Others did that for him.]

[Kate lifted her shoulders in a half shrug. They had let her in the clubs, sex displays and bars during the carnival. It stands to reason that she'd be considered an adult.]

I understand. [She'd never put someone in a situation like that, just as she'd never lie about her age.]

I think it'll be fine but how about I find out. [Or he can ask his girl friend.]

If it's fine with the city, then I see no reason not to play along. I'd be more inclined to bend the rules if I wasn't so certain I'd be reprimanded for it -- and not in a fun way.

[A smile touches Kate's lips.]

Maybe you should ask your girl friend about it too. Even if the cities okay with it, she might not be.

I'd hate to get you in trouble.

Well, she can't do anything about it if it's within the letter of the law. It's my business, after all.

[Kate tilts her head to the side briefly.]

My experiance is that most don't follow the letter of the law.

[In this case it'd be more conservative but it appears to be the same on the surface.]

I tend to skirt it, and sometimes break it when I feel like it. But in terms of my business, well... I'd like to keep it open longer than a night or two.

[Kate nods her head.]

I'll find out. If I do, does that mean I'm hired?

I suppose it does. We'll have to work on an outfit for you, of course. Nothing too... mm. Within the realms of what most of my servers wear, but modified a little.

Modified how?

[She has no idea what his servers usually wear.]

Less cleavage, for one. Maybe not quite as tight, or short. Though, the women and men I've had work for me generally tend to like their outfits, I'd still rather not provoke anything nasty happening. So, something fitted but not too fitted. Yes?

[Kate can easily agree to his assessment despite not knowing the exact lengths that he's talking about.]

Yeah.

Do you have security here?

Not yet. I don't have much of anything at the moment, hence the job call. I never need it, though. Maze usually keeps an eye on things, though she's not here, so I suppose an indoor bouncer would be a good idea.
