[When Thor switches the camera on, it's momentarily engulfed by his face before he sits himself back. Now that the frame isn't obscured, it's apparent that he's not the only one there. Both Lokis, Angela and Sif sit either side of him, all situated around a booth at some sort of diner.

Thor, naturally, is the first to start talking.]

It has come to light in one way or another that we could be considered Gods. [He's keeping it vague on purpose.] It is true, in a sense, that we are are not unlike higher beings. We are not mortals and we have powers and abilities beyond what many would be considered normal. The myths and the legends, however, are not precisely true.

[He just wanted to clear that up.] As such, we thought it would be prudent to offer our services in times of need. For missions or protections, we can be of use in many situations. You need only ask.

[He says we, but he largely means I.

Angela, for her part, doesn't look as opposed to the idea as she probably could.]

I will add that I will require payment for my services, but that can be negotiated at a later time.

[ She glances around the table at her siblings as if daring them to counter her.

The younger Loki leans into shot, finger raised. ]

Should you require an actual god, we come in that flavour too.

Well, we truly exist, but our existence has garnered worship. Mortals had no concept of people like us, so they made stories to explain what little they caught glimpses of.

[That's his understanding, anyway.] We are considered Gods because of our power and strength, not because we are not bound to reality like anyone else.

[scholiast]

Okay. What mortals? Are you talking about the inhabitants of a specific planet, or is your influence wider than that? Because, for example, I haven't ever heard of you and I've visited thirty odd places in the wider planar system.

(She suddenly realises how this may sound out loud, and hastily backtracks a little.) Sorry– I don't mean to sound like I don't believe you. I'm just trying to work out how where I'm from triangulates with where others are from, and where Quarantine resides.

If only for my own peace of mind, you know?

Mortals of Earth. Midgard. That is the only planet in which we are gods. Residents of other planets merely have a healthy respect for us- but if the name Asgard is not familiar to you, we may not hail from the same universe.

[It's a little smug, but it's true.]

I understand your need, and I needn't worry. I respect your endeavor to research, and I will help where I can.

[scholiast]

Yes, perhaps not.

(His wording there is quite interesting, and she can't help but pick at it.)

So if you travel to another planet, are you no longer a god? What are you instead? (Just– people, but with 'powers'? How complicated.)

Thank you. I must admit, you're all a lot more hospitable to questioning than I thought you'd be. I appreciate it.

If I travel to another planet, I am an Asgardian. We have a formidable reputation in our universe, but it doesn't always lead to worship. When we found Earth, it was in a.. [How can he put this without sounding belittling?] ..developing stage. Very impressionable.

Are you from Earth?

[scholiast]

I suppose that makes sense.

(That's her polite way of saying she's a bit confused, but that's okay. There's a lot of factors at play here.)

Earth? (She snorts,) No. I'm... um, well I'm sort of from a ship.

[worldsaway]

And you originate from this ship?

[scholiast]

I didn't, but... my home planet was destroyed.

(She doesn't like to talk about it.)

[worldsaway]

My apologies, I did not mean to rub salt in the wound.

How did you come to be on the ship?

[scholiast]

No, not at all.

I was selected for an expedition to leave my home and explore the wider planar system for the lights of creation. I'm still on it, actually.

[worldsaway]

I'm not sure if being here would benefit or hinder you. There is much opportunity to learn, but not much to explore.

[scholiast]

Well, I've done thirty-six years of exploring thus far so I think I can stand to take a break for a bit.

[worldsaway]

Yes, that is a long time, for some. If they know anything, here, it's how to take a break.

[scholiast]

That's for sure. I don't think I've done a single strenuous thing since I arrived.
