[When Thor switches the camera on, it's momentarily engulfed by his face before he sits himself back. Now that the frame isn't obscured, it's apparent that he's not the only one there. Both Lokis, Angela and Sif sit either side of him, all situated around a booth at some sort of diner.
Thor, naturally, is the first to start talking.]
It has come to light in one way or another that we could be considered Gods. [He's keeping it vague on purpose.] It is true, in a sense, that we are are not unlike higher beings. We are not mortals and we have powers and abilities beyond what many would be considered normal. The myths and the legends, however, are not precisely true.
[He just wanted to clear that up.] As such, we thought it would be prudent to offer our services in times of need. For missions or protections, we can be of use in many situations. You need only ask.
[He says we, but he largely means I.
Angela, for her part, doesn't look as opposed to the idea as she probably could.]
I will add that I will require payment for my services, but that can be negotiated at a later time.
[ She glances around the table at her siblings as if daring them to counter her.
The younger Loki leans into shot, finger raised. ]
Should you require an actual god, we come in that flavour too.

With that in mind, I would know what it is you claim power over as gods. Obviously, as I said, I do not personally require your service, nor would I ever offer tribute to foreign gods, but if you are as powerful as you claim to be, it would be useful for me to know were we ever required to join forces against some sort of cataclysmic threat so that I may command our forces properly.
[Apparently he's just assuming he'd be the one making those sort of strategic decisions.]

I myself did not claim to be a god, but as I understand it, I have been revered as one for my strength and power. Namely my ability to summon thunder and lightning, and the longevity of Asgardians in general.

[Honestly, other than the longevity, it doesn't sound that different from what he's dealing with. Still, now he's stuck on this question of what makes someone a god.]
More than that, do your "Asgardians" watch over and guide the mortals? I would say that is the role the gods should play.

I thought I made perfectly clear why I make such a request. There is no need for you to be so very uncooperative, I am simply petitioning you for pertinent information.
no subject
The pertinent information is that I was Leader of Heven's Hunt for close to a millennium, I have traversed the unceasing wastes of the Endworlds and fought my way to the throne of Hel. I dove into a blazing furnace to save the Ten Realms from destruction and for my actions was exiled from the land of my birth and the land I call home. Now, I fight for no one freely, so if you presume to give me orders you had better be offering something of value in return.

[Assuming her words were honest, he's not concerned about her exile, either. In the face of her obvious irritation, Ozymandias remains calm.]
The people here are not mine, I have no instinctive interest in defending them. Were I to act, I would presume it would be at the behest of those responsible for our presence here. You too would seek them out for your payment.
In such a case, I would at the very least expect cooperation.

[Because she is in turn curious about that. Yet her lip twitches slightly.]
I require no tribute, nor do I follow just anyone.

But if you are trying to ask for me to prove my worth, you should not do it in such a roundabout way, it is tiresome.
[No one is asking you that, Oz]
I am Ozymandias, King of Kings. However, many write of me as "Ramesses the Great," for I was in fact the greatest Pharaoh in all of Egypt's long history. I led my army in fighting back the Sherden pirates, I conquered lands as far as Syria and Nubia, defeating the Hittites soundly in the Battle of Kadesh. None could stand up to the might of my maryannu, because their strength was guided by my wise tactics.
I could, of course, recount all my battles in great detail, but I believe there are books in the library that already do so. [He says this with a dismissive wave of his hand.]

Speak as you may, but my answer remains the same. I follow only those who are worthy. Such is not granted by words alone.
no subject
Then I would ask, are there such "worthy" individuals present here? Given our situation in this place, I would assume such would not be guaranteed.

[Although she would always follow Thor. It doesn't mean that she wouldn't follow others. It just meant that she had only met a few people and had only been able to start to form an opinion.]

[He's not asking for names, technically, so he's not wrong.]

[And maybe, just maybe, purposefully not answering the question now.]
